Utilities Service Person (USA)

Description:

The Utilities Service Person (USA) is an hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader. The USA is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all utility systems in the plant, which consists of water/waste systems, steam systems, boiler systems, compressed air systems, fuel systems, fire prevention systems, binder systems and HVAC.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:    


•    Live the Owens Corning Amarillo Safety Stand and meet all quarterly safety requirements.
•    Participate in the safety, quality, TPM and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant, including but not limited to Kaizen, Central Safety Committee, etc.
•    Perform job tasks in a manner to reduce an adverse impact to the environment and adhere to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
•    Comply with all plant rules, safety regulations and job hazard analysis (JHA) requirements.
•    Install, operate, maintain and modify all utilities systems equipment identified with plant operation.
•    Perform predictive and preventive maintenance to utility systems.
•    Work from information obtained from engineering drawings, field sketches, other related documents and verbal instructions needed to perform assigned duties.
•    Troubleshoot systems to the extent required in isolating problems related to the utilities systems by applying advanced electrical and instrumentation knowledge and by utilizing test equipment common to other crafts.
•    Process all plant waste through the wastewater disposal system and maintain specified conditions at all points throughout the system.
•    Utilize ladder, scaffolding and other items necessary to accomplish assigned work.
•    Move designated equipment as required using powered or manually operated equipment.
•    Perform diagnostic test and checks as required.
•    Provide relief to positions of prior qualification, as required.
•    Perform cleanup duties (including, but not limited to, equipment areas, workstations, etc.).
•    Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the area leader.

Education and/or Experience
The employee should have the following:
•    Must be 18 years or older
•    Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
•    Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
•    Must be drug and alcohol free
•    Two-year associate degree, certificate of completion or equivalent to

Additional Required Training

•    All annual safety and role specific training, as required by the nature of this position
             o    Training and Qualification packet must be completed successfully

Essential Physical Requirements

This position requires: 
•    Rotating shifts – days and nights 12-hour shift.
•    Stand for extended prolonged periods during 12-hour shift.
•    Work overtime, as needed.
•    Utilize hand dexterity.
