We are looking for a Global Category Lead - Energy who will be a member of the Global Indirect Sourcing organization for Glass Reinforcements.

 

Partnering with regional and business stakeholders,  you will define the Global Energy sourcing strategies and lead the region’s day-to-day sourcing energy needs, including but not limited to natural gas, electricity, oxygen, carbon and renewable energy sourcing ($150MM spend).You will partner with sourcing team, third party advisors, local teams and other functions to reduce cost of energy, drive internal engagement and improve supplier quality.

 

This is a pivotal role in the success of our Glass Reinforcement business. As the recognized lead for Energy sourcing globally, you’ll be able to influence key business decisions and demonstrate our Corporate values and commitment to winning with our customers.

 

What does success look like?

  • Business partnering: having the ability to build and deploy global sourcing strategies for the Energy category, through strong relationship with key business leaders and decision makers in the regions and within the global sourcing function
  • Curiosity: understanding our business, what we make, how we make it, how your work affects others are key to understanding what we do & how we can improve
  • Supplier relationship: developing strong understanding of key supplier industries, benchmarking key suppliers regularly and leading supplier management for the category
  • Strategy: developing in-depth sourcing strategies with focused insights on the external markets including: regionals and global macroeconomic and regulatory trends, commodity availability /capacity and risks, value creation and other relevant business factors.
  • Financials & compliance: managing inflation, savings forecasts and financial reporting in a data driven manner accounting for potential short, medium and long-term risks. Ensuring operations are consistent with the global supplier code of conduct, our values & ethics and compliance with regulatory
  • Talent development: engaging in personal development and striving to strengthen and add value to the larger Global Sourcing organization through active participation and knowledge sharing. Regional & global succession planning is a key pillar of our success, high performing talent are included in training programmes for career growth.

Business requirements

  • Master degree in business, engineering, finance or related field of study
  • Experience in creating and implementing sourcing strategies at a comprehensive and regional level within a Corporate environment
  • In-depth knowledge of electricity, natural gas, oxygen, renewable energy and global carbon markets preferred
  • Results and impact driven business partner, able to influence decisions
  • Fluent in English
  • Location: Europe based position (hybrid) with few regional/international travels
