PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the finished goods warehouse including outbound order fulfillment, storage management, and inventory controls.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Lives the Safety Stand and Adheres to Safety Responsibilities

  • Performs all functions of the job with specific attention to safe behaviors, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping duties and reports all nonconformities
  • Participates in the safety, quality, TPM, and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
  • Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
  • Complies with all plant rules, safety regulations, and job hazard analysis (JHA) requirements.
  • Safely operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (fork, short-pole, long-pole, and clamp trucks) to move
  • materials.
  • Setting safety standards in reflection to the Non-Wovens stacking and storage standard

 

Warehouse Operational Duties

  • Supports with outbound order fulfillment including rolls per load, load pattern, quality of rolls, quality of trailers, preparation for order, and people assigned to order.
  • Maintains shipping due-out reports and proactive identification of order fulfillment issues.
  • Supports with inventory controls for outbound deliveries, customer returns, and cycle counting inventory.
  • Direct communication with customers and carriers regarding orders and shipments
  • Responsible for regular review of all finish goods warehouse JHAs, SOPs, and OPLs.
  • Collaboration with supply chain team regarding inbound deliveries of raw materials and finished goods alongside optimizing space consolidation processes.
  • Responsible for maintenance and physical upkeep of the warehouse building through communication with contractors and team members
  • Ensure timely waste disposal – accurately and environmentally compliant
  • Participate in schedule planning if available.
  • Accountable for safe operation of forklift for purposes of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and inventorying of material.
  • Perform 5S standards to maintain clean work environment
  • Complete a forklift inspection at the beginning of each shift and turn in to designated area.
  • Complete trailer inspections and corresponding form for every load.
  • Clean trailers as needed to ensure product integrity during shipment.
  • Cycle count all materials within finished goods warehouse.
  • Perform duties as directed by Warehouse Leader and management.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Internal applicants: must be in current role at least 1 year or have supervisor/HR approval to be eligible
  • Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
  • Previous Owens Corning warehouse experience strongly preferred
  • Previous PIV/forklift experience required
  • Ability to use basic computer functions
    • Log into company computer systems and maintain electronic communication
    • Type accurately

    • SAP proficiencies preferred
