Monday- Friday 12pm-8pm

The Safety Coordinator role is essentially one of leadership. The person filling this role will accept the personal responsibility to uphold the plant’s effort to create and maintain an injury free environment that trains, encourages each employee at all levels of the organization become increasingly involved in the continuous improvement of the plant processes. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands the critical nature of personal leadership by example and uses his/her own personal level of high engagement to encourage others.  The Safety Coordinator will demonstrate a sincere desire to be a part of our team, our efforts, and our goals.
  • Provide safety training to new hires.
  • Update and maintain LTT program.
  • Write JHA’s and Standard Work and train others
  • Regular Attendance on site and the ability to rotate varying shifts if needed
  • All other duties as assigned or needed

 

Plant and Environmental Safety

  • Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment.
  • Communicates safety concerns and/or equipment problems/abnormalities to appropriate personnel, maintaining strong communication with the appropriate asset operators to ensure immediate action is taken for product out of spec.

 

TPM

  • Participates in plant TPM initiatives.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following skills and abilities:

 

  • Has the ability to train others in specific safety and environmental tasks.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with our regulatory and corporate standards. 
  • Intermediate computer literacy – email, spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a team or alone
  • Able to effectively communicate (read, write, speak, understand) English 
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Attention to detail

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Some manufacturing experience is helpful
