SUMMARY

The primary objective of this position is to provide daily operations pertaining to the hourly workforce at the Brookville, Indiana manufacturing plant. Essential duties are maintaining timekeeping for hourly payroll, benefits issues, employee file maintenance and Talent Center database management. This role acts in the HR capacity at all times and will fill in for questions and support in the absence of the Regional HR Leader.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Payroll

· Payroll Coordinator duties with oversight and administration of Kronos up to and including training and certifying new department payroll admins.

· Responsible for maintenance of time clocks at the Roofing and Asphalt plants

· Respond to payroll issues from hourly paid employees

· Coordinate or assist employees with all payroll changes (tax Changes, direct deposit, garnishments, deductions…etc)

· Be sole point of contact for Payroll Shared Services and problem ticket entry and resolution

· Research for annual labor market survey

 

Benefits

· Maintain a high level of understanding on all benefits and respond to routine benefit questions or escalate to appropriate resource

· Facilitate open enrollment meetings and one-on-one’s

· Primary liaison with ROHN and DCM with issues with FMLA/STD.

 

Talent Center

· Update employee data as necessary in Employee Central

· Run routine and non-routine reports

· Calculate quarterly incentive plan payout (VIP) and Employee Performance Awards (EPA) as required.

 

Staffing

· Arrange Plant Tours and Interviews

· Coordinate all pre-placement activities as per policy, including drug screen & medical questionnaire

· Manage all hourly recruitment in Talent Center

· Assist with orientation and on boarding for hourly and salary employees

 

Employee Files

· Ensure that employee information is filed in compliance with company and governmental regulations.

· Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information

 

Other Activities

· Assist Inclusion Committee and community service efforts

· Perform as Wellness Champion assisting NLT Pillar Leaders and updating Wellness A3 quarterly.

· Serve and be an active/engaged member of the T&D Team and serve as backup to Team Leader as needed to continue forward momentum for group

· Keep all HR communication boards updated throughout the plant, including mandated postings

· Coordinate monthly random and follow up drug screens

· Facilitate/coordinate plant events

· Employee uniform service liaison

· Assist and/or lead in creating and revising plant policies

· Take personal ownership to work safely each and everyday

· Actively engage in the plant's Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts through maintaining 5S standards and area/pillar activities as assigned.

· General housekeeping in your work area

· Follow the company waste management program - separate all recyclable material and discard waste into the appropriate containers to ensure sustainability efforts maximized

· Remain actively 100% engaged in all safety initiatives and comply with all plant safety regulations

· Comply with all plant rules and corporate policies regarding business conduct

· Regular onsite attendance

· All other duties as assigned or needed that can be performed safely

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following abilities:

· This is a Special Skills position, which requires approximately 6 months of training to reach desired performance levels.

· Must understand verbal and written instructions

· Must be self-motivated to work independently and in a group

· Must perform basic mathematical calculations

· Able to think under pressure, make quick decisions, and act as a decision maker.

· Able to communicate proficiently in English

· Attention to detail

 

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

The employee must be able to:

· Utilize Microsoft Office products

· Operate a computer and navigate access to paycheck/benefits enrollment information and accomplish required online training routinely

· May be required to log into and navigate production monitoring systems such as SAP for work notifications, quality and production tracking, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee must possess the following:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalency

· Leadership training

· Must be able to learn the responsibilities of this position

· Previous experience in service-oriented role/high human interaction.

· Clerical or office experience

· Experience handling sensitive data

· Must be able to squat, bend at the wait and knees freely.

· Exposure to temperatures extremes

· Exposure to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable

· Handle, control or feel objects, tools or control
