DESCRIPTION:
Brüggen is part of Owens Corning’s Non Woven, Composites Solutions Business and produces glass non-wovens for flooring, ceiling, walls and GRP industries. The Brüggen Plant has 70+ employees, running 1 production line in a 24/7 shift model. In 2024 the production capacity will be increased with a second production line. In compliance with organizational, quality & safety instructions, the Maintenance Electrician (m/f/x) ensures troubleshooting, reliability and development of programmable controllers, operator consoles and configurable electronic equipment, in order to contribute to the smooth running and improvement of installations.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety and enviroment

  • Respect site security rules
  • Carry out all safety-related activities
  • Work and manage your workstation in compliance with 5S rules
  • Respect critical 6 programs and participate in their implementation during interventions on installations.

Maintenance Activities:

  • Analyze the operation of the installations, by setting up, monitoring and studying indicators; detect possible deviations
  • Check the availability and validity of electrical spare parts
  • Communicate with the maintenance teams/employees on duty in order to better follow the history of the installations and know the problems encountered by them
  • Set up, program, test, monitor and maintain control systems for automated systems
  • Supervise external (electronic) contractors regarding services provided

Diagnostic and troubleshooting activities

  • Provide methodological and technical support to maintenance teams/employees posted on the diagnosis of breakdowns and faults
  • Intervene quickly on breakdowns, faults and malfunctions in order to remedy the problem or correct it
  • Initiate analysis and remedial measures / troubleshooting and fault rectification

Activities to improve the reliability of electrical/automated systems

  • Analyze recurring breakdowns, defects and malfunctions and investigate their causes; propose, test and implement solutions

Activities to improve the performance of electrical/automated systems

  • Participate in the analysis of process performance and seek ways of improvement; propose, test and implement solutions
  • Monitor planned obsolescence of equipment and develop alternative solutions

Internal Training Activities

  • create training materials and documentation
  • Carry out training modules for the staff concerned
  • Create and communicate the standards necessary for users

Project Activities

  • Participate in general project progress meetings concerning the Electrical/Automation part.
  • Study testing and development requests from other departments and transmitted by your supervisor. Participate in testing and implementation of solutions.

Administration Activities

  • Develop detailed operating ranges for preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Stay informed and edicated regarding regulations and laws

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualification/Experience

  • Vocational Training («Industrieelektriker» or «Betriebselektroniker»)
  • BAC+2 Technical
  • Knowledge and experience of 2-5 years in automation, electricity, industrial IT and networks.
  • Optional : Know how to read and modify program analysis documents (grafcet type)
  • Know how to replace the main components of an electrical installation and a controller
  • Master the software of the hardware installed in the company (Schneider, AB, Siemens, TIA Portal)
  • Know how to work on installations where he knows the programming language
