Position: Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitter

What does the position involve

This position works as part of the Mechanical Maintenance team, the Maintenance Fitter plays a key role in ensuring production lines, site services, and utility equipment are fully functioning.

Responsibilities include:

  • undertaking workshop maintenance, repairs, and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all factory-associated areas and systems
  • strong knowledge and ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • competent in a workshop environment example using a lathe, milling machine bandsaw, welder
  • ability to interpret equipment drawings and diagrams
  • complete work orders
  • respond and complete repair works planned and unplanned timely and efficiently
  • comply with health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Executing planned maintenance schedules to ensure maximum uptime of production machinery.
  • Work with the Stores team, to ensure maintenance and engineering stock is fit for purpose

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Competencies Required:

  • Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting QQ1 Level 6

or Equivalent Mechanical Fitter Qualified

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician in Industry
  • Knowledgeable in Predictive Maintenance with Root Cause Analysis,
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Demonstrate Initiative
  • Adaptability
  • Good communication skills both written & oral skills, to meet the requirements of the job in full
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with minimum supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to apply logic to solving problems
  • Has a flexible approach to working hours (shift work, overtime and on call)
