Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler plans and establishes production schedules. This role monitors material inventory, tracks progress of production, and reviews other factors that may impact production schedules. This position reviews and plans current orders and works with production to produce manufacturing schedule. This position would also communicate acknowledgement to customer service. This position prints tickets/placards/ labels and all related functions to scheduling working hand by hand with shipping and production.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates all production orders to be delivered to production shop floor.
- Monitors material inventory, tracks progress of production, and reviews other factors that may impact production schedules
- Processes stock orders and date production base on department capacity – Communicate issues with operations
- Coordinates remake items and communicate information to the floor
- Work with production & shipping to ensure all orders are scheduled for delivery in a timely manner
- Coordinates with customer service and plant management on all issues relating to product scheduling for production
- Unscheduled absences and tardiness can cause disruptions in production and customer service therefore regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Problem-solver with ability to establish and implement creative solutions
- Tech-savvy and experienced working with MS Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Experience working with Production Scheduling software is a plus. Master Pack software experience preferred.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to document, review and analyze workflow processes, company policies, and legal requirements to be able to help establish, train and maintain new improved processes
- Must be willing to be cross-trained in shipping clerk functions, and inbound receiving functions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2-4 years in production scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferred
- Accustomed to a high volume, medium mix manufacturing environment
- Must be flexible to work extended hours during the work week
- Follows all Company related safety/environmental rules and regulations
