The primary purpose of this position is to monitor and maintain our Sales Order process, entering orders and make changes to our product item numbers and back up to phones as required.

 

Job Duties:

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure the integrity of computer system by maintaining consistent entry process
  • Enter, review and maintain Order Processing
  • Review purchase orders
  • Verify items on orders for accuracy
  • Coordinate with Customer Service on more involved issues
  • Initiate changes in Customer Spec drawing according to specifications and communications with customers on order related issues.

 

Education: Two/Four-year College or University degree or a combination of experience, education, and training equivalent to a degree is preferred but not required. High School Diploma/GED required.

 

Experience: This position requires a strong background in communication skills, proper telephone etiquette, some excel, proficient in math, experience with sales order entry on a computerized system and excellent Customer Service skills.

 

Complexity of Duties: Performs a variety of Computer related skills.  A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with the ability to work a 40+hour week.  Considerable judgment is required to work independently, as well as, jointly with Customers, Sales Reps and Production employees towards an amiable work environment.

 

Supervision Received: Under specific direction of Customer Service & Sales Order Entry Supervisor where goals and objectives are jointly established.  Coordinate work with others.  advise supervisor of unusual circumstances as needed.  Contact with Supervisor is frequent, with a work schedule of a minimum 40hour work week.

 

Responsibility for Errors:  Errors may be serious, involving Sales Orders which could result in wrong products produced and shipped.  Errors will become apparent in normal business routine.

 

Contact with Others: Regular contact with employees, staff, Independent Sales Reps, and customers where improper handling may affect results.

 

Confidential Data: Full access to all company pricing, product design and customers.

 

Essential Functions:  Flow of work and character of duties requires normal alertness and concentration, where period of unconsciousness could cause errors to a customer order, disconnection from phones or injury to employee or others.  Must possess excellent typing skills with the ability to be multitask while moving in and out of orders, customer master and specification while answering phones. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination for computer operations where fingers on both hands are used 99% of the time.  Requires the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime during busy season is required.

 

Working Conditions: Usual Office conditions. Most work performed in a sitting position with infrequent moving from office to office.

 

Character and Scope of Supervision:  This position has no direct reports.
