Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to organize and prepare shipments of material via regular freight and UPS.  This includes pulling distribution items, making labels, checking material, organizing skids, wrapping material, and some packaging.  It is of the utmost importance that the proper materials reach our customers in good condition.  This position is typically the final step anyone will physically see this material before it leaves our site.

  • Order Fulfillment: Interpret daily schedules and utilize QAD/RF scanning systems to accurately pull, scan, and process orders in real time.
  • Precision & Quality Control: Verify material length to 1/32” and perform detailed quality checks on product type, count, and cosmetics to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate a forklift to transport materials across the warehouse and plant without damage to product or property.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Coordinate with Production, Shipping, and Purchasing regarding order status, material outages, and backorders via verbal and email updates.
  • Leadership & Support: Assist in training new operators and act as a backup for the Cell Lead in labor allocation and decision-making.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain a flexible "team-first" attitude by cross-training in assembly areas and assisting other departments during volume fluctuations.
  • Operational Excellence: Work independently with minimal supervision to meet daily shipping goals with minimal carryover while maintaining high standards of housekeeping.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have a complete knowledge of door bottoms, weather strip, and all distribution items processed in Site 1000 and 2000. 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Approximately 6 months of work experience is required to become skilled in all phases of the job.  Must be capable of reading a tape measure and new measuring equipment.  Educational requirements due to accountability of production requires completion of 9th grade. Must have the ability to effectively communicate professionally orally, via e mail, and in writing, without many grammatical errors.

 

INITIATIVE & INGENUITY:  Work priorities are determined by the schedule, supervisors instructions or lead’s instructions.  The operator should quality check the raw and sub-finished goods materials frequently.  Individual must be self-motivated working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Under specific direction of the Shipping coordinator, Supervisor and Plant Manager, where goals and objectives are established.  Coordinate work with material handler and crew members.  Report any situations affecting shipping efficiency.

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS:  Errors may be serious involving inventory or missed shipments and will become apparent in daily processing.  Maintain proper production and reject reporting.

 

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:  Regular contact with crew members, other employees, lead people, shipping personnel, and staff members where improper handling may affect results.  Clear, concise communications skills are important.

 

PHYSICAL EFFORT:  Flow of work and character of duties involve performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions and capable of standing the entire shift.  Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination some walking, bending, twisting, stooping and lifting of approximately 35 lbs.  Must have good hand and eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools.

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT:  Damage to any equipment would result in a loss for the company.  This position must ensure that all weekly preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis, to machines and/or forklifts. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Employees must be able to withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees.

 

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Enduras Safety Manual.  This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs and in certain locations, ear muffs).
