Inventory Control Supervisor

As an Inventory Control Supervisor, you will lead inventory management, material flow, and off-site warehouse operations to support efficient manufacturing and supply chain performance. In this role, you will be responsible for driving inventory accuracy, ensuring material availability, and maintaining strong transaction discipline in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will partner closely with Operations, Purchasing, Production, and Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory processes, improve material flow, and support customer delivery requirements. Success in this role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
POSITION LOCATION: Greensboro, North Carolina (On site)
What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead the Inventory and Receiving teams, establishing accountability and ensuring accurate inventory transactions across the facility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy, including ownership of cycle counting programs and inventory control processes.
- Implement and manage material replenishment strategies within the ERP system to support production and customer fulfillment requirements.
- Partner with Purchasing to support supplier performance, material availability, and on-time delivery objectives.
- Maintain system integrity across inventory processes, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and materials management data.
- Develop and implement inventory management practices that balance inventory investment with customer service and operational needs.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to optimize material flow, improve replenishment processes, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and TPM initiatives within the inventory and materials functions.
- Analyze inventory variances, trends, and historical data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and report key inventory and delivery performance metrics to support business objectives and drive cost reductions.
- Ensure strong transaction accountability across receiving, storage, inventory movements, and warehouse operations.
- Utilize MRP systems and inventory planning tools to support efficient material management and operational performance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance inventory accuracy, process efficiency, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience utilizing MRP systems and working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and inventory control processes.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, material flow, and procurement logistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QAD ERP systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production operations and materials planning.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing off-site warehouse operations.
- Experience leading cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and process improvement initiatives.
- APICS/ASCM certification or other supply chain-related certifications.
