Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and empathetic User Adoption & Experience Lead – Applications to drive successful implementation of off-the-shelf software applications with a goal of achieving 100% user adoption and delivering an exceptional user experience. This role focuses on the people, process, technology, and data aspects of adoption, ensuring that users are not only equipped but also motivated to embrace new tools as part of their daily workflows. Software applications will be configured and implemented using a fit-to-standard and fit-to-suite approach.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about change management, user-centric design, and digital enablement. The role will work closely with stakeholders across business units to ensure seamless onboarding, training, communications and sustained engagement with the software solution—leveraging tools like SAP WalkMe and other digital adoption platforms to enhance the user journey. Primary focus will start supporting the implementation of SAP S/4 Cloud and SAP Business Suite tools. Experience in manufacturing or process industry environments, where adoption impacts shop floor, supply chain and compliance workflows is highly desirable.
Owens Corning Glass Reinforcements is a business unit of Owens Corning that is in the acquisition sign to close process. Owens Corning has signed an agreement to sell Glass Reinforcements to the Praana Group. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025. The path ahead will be dynamic, full of change, and expected to be fast paced with a change in ownership. The business operates from twenty (20+) locations across the globe. The information technology environment supporting our new company is being built from the ground up in terms of IT infrastructure and applications with the opportunity to leverage new technologies and new ways of thinking as we look to end a transition services agreement associated with the acquisition as soon as possible.
All IT team members may be assigned IT Engineering responsibilities, focused on designing, building, and maintaining technology systems that support business operations. These assignments ensure secure connectivity, scalable platforms, and reliable data flow to enable efficient production, supply chain management, and enterprise-wide digital transformation—especially during the separation from Owens Corning. Roles may be temporary or ongoing and can include direct ownership of IT service delivery for one or more manufacturing plants.
Key Responsibilities
- User Adoption Strategy
- Develop and execute comprehensive adoption plans aligned with business goals and user needs.
- Identify user personas and tailor onboarding experiences accordingly.
- Monitor adoption metrics and continuously optimize strategies to drive engagement.
- Implementation Leadership
- Lead the rollout of off-the-shelf software applications using the vendor’s designed solution.
- Collaborate with IT, business units, and vendor teams to ensure alignment and readiness.
- Ensure data integrity and process alignment to support adoption.
- User Experience Design
- Map user journeys and identify friction points.
- Design intuitive, contextual guidance owning and using tools like SAP WalkMe to support users in real time.
- Leverage and account for agentic AI in the implementation, so every user benefits from having a digital assistant or digital sidekick in the performance of their job responsibilities.
- Gather user feedback and iterate on experience improvements.
- Change Management & Communication
- Collaborate with communications, human resources, and functional teams to gain insights, set expectations, and drive results.
- Develop communication plans to build awareness and excitement around new tools.
- Create training materials, FAQs, and support resources tailored to different user groups.
- Facilitate workshops, demos, and hands-on sessions to build confidence and competence.
- Release Management & Cutover Deployment
- Own and manage the release calendar for application deployments, coordinating across IT and business stakeholders.
- Lead Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes to evaluate, approve, and schedule changes with minimal disruption.
- Ensure all releases follow structured change control procedures and are communicated effectively to impacted users.
- Plan and execute cutover activities for major deployments, including readiness assessments, deployment checklists, rollback strategies, and hypercare support.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure deployment success and post-go-live stability.
- Performance & Reporting
- Define KPIs for adoption and experience success.
- Use analytics to track usage, identify gaps, and report progress to leadership.
- Recommend enhancements based on data-driven insights.
- IT Engineering (As Assigned)
o Own IT service delivery for assigned manufacturing sites, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring operational excellence.
o Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver IT services aligned with business needs during organizational transitions, including separation activities.
o Participate in the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions that support core business operations and digital transformation.
o Ensure manufacturing connectivity and data flow across enterprise systems, enabling efficient production and supply chain processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Human-Centered Design, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software implementation, user adoption, or change management.
- Proven success in driving adoption of off-the-shelf software solutions.
- Experience with digital adoption platforms (e.g., SAP WalkMe).
- Ability to quickly build a strong understanding of business processes and data flows.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Empathy-driven approach to user engagement and support.
- Experience in chemical or manufacturing industries with regulated environments, supply chain, or shop floor adoption challenges.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci).
- Experience in enterprise application environments (e.g., SAP).
- Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles and tools.
- Analytical mindset with experience in user behavior analytics.
- Exposure to Scientific Management principles to include time and motion studies.
