Supplier Quality Engineer

Drive and support the development and implementation of global sourcing supplier quality vision and strategies throughout the Team, providing flexible, responsive, and innovative sourcing support with the ability to identify, analyze, quantify and execute on opportunities to improve product quality, consistency and reduce total cost of goods, increase efficiencies and timelines, and improve product development through both domestic and international partners and support of our Global businesses.
Conduct project qualification and key supplier process/product audits. Reduce component non-conformances and lost COPQ by using modern quality, statistical, and lean manufacturing tools.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and lead new supplier and new component qualification (SPPAP).
- Collaborate with the Product Engineering to develop and maintain qualification test plans for purchased components.
- Work with internal process partners (Global Sourcing, Technology and Innovation Team, Mfg. Plants, etc.) to manage purchased component qualification testing to implement Sourcing PPV projects, including but not limited to:
- Work with Product Engineering to identify the proper qualification tests required.
- Coordinate with the Technology and Innovation Team to conduct testing per plan requirements.
- Coordinate/manage manufacturing plant trials as needed.
- Conduct on-site product and process audits as needed.
- Identify and drive quality improvement projects to reduce COPQ and defect rates. Identify suppliers’ capabilities and potential areas for improvement, drive suppliers to make timely, effective improvements that benefit the business.
- Utilize existing lab equipment to validate product compliance to specifications.
- Assist or provide component value engineering alternative solutions for competitive advantage. Work in cross functional teams and manage supply chain goals improving value-to-cost relationship by focusing on total cost of ownership, quality, delivery, service and working capital (DPO/inventory).
- Handle external/internal customer complaints and claims related to supplier non-conformance (NCM). Work with suppliers to analyze root causes of non-conformance and implement effective corrective actions (RCCA).
- Develop and maintain tracking systems for NCM, ensuring clear communication and resolution within established timelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Manufacturing, Quality, and Sourcing/Procurement teams) to minimize production disruptions and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Support a variety of sourcing and procurement projects across the Company, with significant exposure to senior business leaders and their teams.
Qualifications:
- BS required. BS in Engineering or Supply Chain desired.
- Six Sigma training and /Greenbelt certification a definite plus
- Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing or quality management experience, preferably in a multinational environment
- Interpreting manufacturing drawings and specifications
- PPAP, PFMEA, Root Cause Corrective Action analysis tools (8D, A3, etc.)
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint skills.
- Familiarity with Power BI, statistical tools, quality systems, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus

Minumum of 5 years of manufacturing or quality managment experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
