The Storeroom Purchaser is responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the storeroom, as well as the timely procurement of materials, equipment, spare parts, and supplies required to support plant operations and maintenance activities. This role integrates purchasing responsibilities with storeroom oversight, ensuring that critical resources are available in the correct quantities, at the right time, and at optimal cost. The position is accountable for evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating purchasing terms, issuing and tracking purchase orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records through SAP. In addition to procurement, the Buyer and Storeroom Supervisor leads all storeroom functions, including supervising daily operations, enforcing housekeeping and safety standards, conducting inventory audits and cycle counts, and ensuring the secure and organized storage of materials. The position requires strong communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization, as well as with external vendors and service providers, to ensure alignment with quality, safety, and operational standards
Reports to: This position reports directly to the Delmar Site Warehouse Leader.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement of materials and services for the Delmar Plant, including MRO, capital, vehicle leases, site services, and other business services from external suppliers.
- Manage all suppliers; ensure services are provided, agreed upon terms are met; maintain timely lead times and quality is delivered.
- Supervise and coordinate storeroom activities and monitor performance to ensure adherence to company policies
- Collaborate with the broader Sourcing community to learn processes and create efficient solutions for purchasing within the Delmar Plant.
- Implement sourcing process improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate organizational risks.
- Develop and update vendor and material records accurately.
- Promptly clear all GRINIs (Goods Receipts with No Invoice), Kickouts, and late order lead times.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and national purchasing agreements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the storeroom and procurement functions, leveraging lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and standard work to reduce waste, improve process capability, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), support cost improvement and avoidance strategies, and contribute to the achievement of world-class operational performance
- Comply with the safety, quality, TPM, job hazard analysis and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
- Conduct and report on regular cycle counts and full inventory audits.
- Collaborate with Maintenance supervisors and planners to develop and maintain appropriate inventory levels of spare parts to meet production plan.
- Monitor the storerooms cleanliness, organization, and security.
- Utilize the SAP system to plan and order materials and maintain data integrity.
- Resolve all open accounts payable issues as they occur
- Train employees requesting services or materials in the creation of purchase requisitions for MRO materials, contract work or services.
- Leads Continuous Improvement Activities for the purchasing and storeroom.
- Creates new materials as needed for existing and newly commissioned equipment
- GRNI, open PO, and invoice kick out owner for follow ups and clean up
- Manage vendor relationships and support on any issues, purchases and invoice questions
- Partners with relevant stakeholders on product qualification to optimize process and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the area leader.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business.
- 2 years of experience in Supply Chain/Sourcing.
- Proven leadership and principal understanding in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management or related field is required
- Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft applications; SAP (ERP) system experience is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Experience with SAP, BI, and Coupa systems.
- Experience with payment terms and contract negotiations.

Essential Physical Requirements
This position requires:
- Standing and Walking frequently required to stand and walk throughout the facility and storeroom areas.
- Manual Dexterity and use of hands to operate computer systems (SAP), label printers, handheld scanners, and small tools.
The base salary range for this position is $76,000, with the potential for up to an additional 25% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
