Receiving Team Lead

Hourly Rate: $23
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Team Lead supports the Inventory & Warehouse Supervisor in the overall receiving and inventory and delegation of work assignments to ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) are identified, measured, and addressed. The Team Lead will need to have the ability to utilize production boards to keep employees enlightened and informed of the department performance against standards, working with them to correct deficiencies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Responsibilities:
- Manage the inbound truck load delivery schedule (excel spreadsheet)
- Communicating with carriers regarding late shipments
- Work with quality to ensure quality issues are addressed as they arise (internal or external)
- Ensure receiving forklift operators are following all safety procedures while unloading trucks and doing daily activities
- Manage the upkeep of the warehouse (daily audit of bins)
- Run reports concerning inventory warehouse management
- Check in and receive trucks in the receiving clerk’s absence
- Reconcile receiving logs daily
- Any tasks/duties assigned by Supervisor
Skills:
- Forklift knowledge and safety procedures
- Excellent knowledge of all raw material components, location of all materials in main warehouse
- Ability to read, complete, and process all receiving paperwork and transfers
- Forklift operating skills to load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials, navigate throughout the plant and warehouse
- Perform visual quality checks, warehousing, and kanban systems
- Strong organizational skills required
- High level of responsibility, first and final check of all inbound material (quantities and quality), works with little to no supervision
- Makes decisions independently
- Responsible for the layout and clean operation of the warehouse
- Excellent and constant communication skills needed, regular communication with
with receiving clerk, employees, and truck drivers
- Fast-paced position - constant flow of materials, attention to details required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year leadership experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills between department employees, supervision, management.
Language: Able to understand English preferred but not required.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to read and write. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is frequently required to perform repetitive motions. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to feel or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to bend, stoop, twist, push, pull, talk, and hear. Manually lift/slide/flip materials or boxes of material (max. 50-100 lbs.) with assistance, bending, lifting, twisting, agility - constant moving on/off lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working amongst moving parts, oil, grease, coolants, fumes and other airborne particulates which can become hazardous under certain circumstances. Mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions.
