Pay Rate: $21 

Employee will be driving a forklift but is also on and off the forklift throughout the shift doing tasks that assist in their responsibilities such as, to straighten blocks, check tickets, etc.  Based on schedule, pulls, stages, and groups doors based on daily schedule markings and groups identical doors to minimize change-over set-ups on the lines, while maintaining order integrity and sort based on width, saw thickness, length, bevel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and sorts orders to segregate orders by PO, customer, and customer locations.
  • Door prepping locations and process for consolidation.
  • Stacking requirements. 
    • Stacks/down stacks pallets of doors to customer shipping quantity specs, verify doors and Jetta mark/species on the doors match the tickets, inspect paint edge quality, direct lift drivers on where to stage pallets of doors, combine/build/pyramid door stacks for each customer using SOP procedures - (use culled doors/cardboard/runners between pallets to protect doors).
  • Sends doors to repair that fail to meet quality specs.
  • Uses a pallet jack to retrieve and stage material and wraps doors for shipment.
  • Communicates with upstream/downstream channels for doors shipping needs to complete loads. 
  • Forklift knowledge and safety procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of all raw material component, location of all materials in the plant.
  • Able to read, complete, and process all receiving paperwork and transfers.
  • Unloads all incoming product from vendors.
  • Verifies materials received to the invoice or bill of lading.
  • Puts away materials in appropriate locations.
  • Executes directives provided for organizing all materials in warehouse.
  • Confirms material movements are in process, assist in locating materials.
  • Forklift operating skills to load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials, navigate throughout the plant.
  • Follows work instructions and pays attention to details.
  • Follows safety and PPE procedures and reports violations to supervisor, leads, and/or to safety.
  • Follows work practices that are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
  • Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and ISO requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5s requirements, rules, and regulations. 
  • Must be able to work required overtime as needed.
  • Work with members of leadership and quality to solve issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Face paced position - constant flow of materials, attention to details required.
  • Mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working amongst moving parts, oil, grease, coolants, fumes and other airborne particulates which can become hazardous under certain circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE                                 

  • Excellent memory recall, strong planning and organizational skills, ability to comprehend and retain large amounts of data, high attention details, read/interpret schedules, read tape measure 1/16" and work with sense of urgency.  Must have a high attention to detail.
  • Works with little supervision to prepare and consolidate door stacks to maximize cubic footage on truck and according to customer specs, quality specs, and routes doors to appropriate destinations.
  • Manually lifts/slide/flip materials or doors (max of 100 lbs), bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, stacking doors, and standing for extended periods.  Depth perception required.
  • Fast paced job, constant need to recall where doors are staged for future consolidation. Separate doors by customer and load, and locate with like items within a pallet, must Be constantly thinking about how to maximize stacks of doors.
  • Strong and effective communication skills in directing drivers and team members. Must also communicate with upstream and downstream departments.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and have good math and measurement skills.
  • Must read and write English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and must have good attendance and safety records.
  • Must demonstrate solid teamwork abilities.

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Able to read and write in English.
  • Able to read tape measure 1/32".
  • Basic math skills with ability to perform basic math calculations, such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  Plus, knowledge of fractions and decimals.
  • Previous manufacturing warehouse forklift experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to coordinate shipping products.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.  
  • Ability to work in a team environment, good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
