Digital Engineering Systems and Data Analyst

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

Owens Corning has embarked on a plan to make a revolutionary step change in their Digital Engineering systems over the next several years to create a system which will integrate across the engineering design, project delivery, manufacturing operation and digital twin technologies. One of the key elements of this transition will be to design and implement an integrated Digital Engineering System. This will involve the interconnection of multiple streams of design data and creation of standardized workflow to drive the efficiencies of engineering design activities. Owens Corning is seeking a system lead who will support the vision, design and implementation of the Digital Engineering System on a global basis for Owens Corning. The individual will be accountable to create/develop standards, implement software, and move the Digital Engineering System into the standard design practice for Owens Corning and Owens Corning’s Engineering Partners.

Reports to: Digital Engineering Leader

 

Span of Control:  The Digital Engineering Lead will report to the Digital Engineering Leader. In this role the Digital Engineering Lead will be accountable to drive and execute activities to design, develop and deploy innovative systems focused on Construction Management, Engineering Design Management, Sourcing, and Project Management systems. They will manage day to day work plans, priorities, and budgets, which align with the overall program goals as developed in conjunction with the Digital Engineering Leader and the Global Capital Delivery Leadership Team. This individual will be skilled at managing work of external partners as well as completing detailed work on their own.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Digital Technology Leadership - Leverage contemporary digital technology expertise to educate and proactively influence organizational outcomes that increase value to our customers and shareholders.

 

Execute – Leverage execution methodologies to gather requirements, identify, and segment users, execute release plans, and execute development strategies. Clearly understand tradeoffs between business and technical teams.

 

Product Leadership – Design, build, and maintain business applications and automations using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse/SharePoint/Azure SQL). Model robust relational data, configure secure environments, and optimize workflows that improve operational efficiency. Partner with business stakeholders to translate processes into scalable solutions with sound governance, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and data integrity. Serve as a platform Owner from a Business standpoint.

 

 Innovate and Think Strategically- Partner with Global Information Services (GIS) to formulate and maintain product roadmap of current and future features and functionalities through immersion with user groups. Consistently leverage opportunities with other technology organizations to facilitate early adoption of new technologies across business platforms. Gather and communicate data on metrics and provide analysis of data.

 

Collaborate and Foster Teamwork - Act to cultivate talent within the Digital Engineering organization, user groups, Global Capital Delivery, and business organizations to promote an engaging work environment. Increase the level of customer product awareness and value across the company.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, Information Systems, Networking, or related field.
  • Advanced ability within industry related software including, but not limited to the following:
    • Power Apps
    • Power Bi
    • Power Automate
    • Power Pages
    • Dataverse/ SharePoint/ Azure SQL
  • Experience with security: RLS, environment roles, connection references, DLP.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Resourceful, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to be engaged in multiple projects at one time is essential.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of with a Design/ Engineering/ Construction firm with internal IS system experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in information technology focused projects including websites, portals, chat, apps, mobile apps, data integration, analytics
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL; basic scripting (PowerShell or C#/TypeScript) is a plus.
  • Experience with agile project development process and projects
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, SQL, API.
  • Experience collaborating with 3rd party providers, agencies, development teams
  • Excellent customer service and technology team representation
  • Six Sigma Green Belt with data analysis skill and knowledge
