PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Global Capital Delivery Electrical Power Leader is a key leadership role for delivering outcomes that are aligned with Composite Glass Reinforcement strategic capital portfolios. This position is responsible for leading and execution of power distribution and analysis of power requirements. Also required to institute quality and KI’s to deliver power systems that meet project requirements. They must provide reliable systems, report and monitoring of the plant facilities and equipment. Common duties for this role will be leading the definition of new application power requirements, updating existing applications based on functional requirements, providing cost/benefit tradeoff analysis to leadership, deploying automation systems to the manufacturing floor, and assuring effective training for operations and maintenance. This key role owns the overall success for all aspects of capital projects (start to finish) and is accountable to ensure the business outcomes of the projects are realized and sustainable. A successful leader provides leadership through efficient management of resources, synchronization of project management concepts and effective communication to all stake holders are central accountabilities to this role.

Span of control: Engineering partners as assigned to project scope.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership - Lead by example; ensuring the successful delivery of the project outcomes in the portfolio.
- Leads and engages teams and engineers to identify and translate business needs into clear project and system specifications.
- Apply project management expertise and other best practices/tools to define, execute, and fully own project plans from end-to-end.
- Develops and routinely forecasts project plans and project budget to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Communication – collaborates with all Leaders and guarantees clear and consistent communications to all project & business stakeholders.
- Change Leadership – Manages the transition to ensure adoption of change, project benefits are achieved, and project outcomes are sustainable.
- Adheres to the Project Management processes and actively prepares for / participates in all reviews and stage gate deliverables.
- Understands Total Productive Maintenance Methodology (TPM) and follows all corporate standards.
- This role has accountability for the scope, budget, resources, assumptions, communication, change management, training, testing, deployment, and user acceptance for the project portfolio.
Technical Depth
- Holistic knowledge on power systems through automation systems and concepts which will improve production methods, equipment performance, facility layout and quality of product. This leader is required to have the following technical experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of power distribution from incoming high voltage, medium voltage to low voltage thru plant distribution for 5 to 20MW.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with global electrical standards and application to projects.
- Experience with High Voltage systems.
- Experience with AC power systems in heating elements and process systems and experience in execution of SCR and/or IGBT based AD and DC power systems is desired.
- General PLC/HMI programming working knowledge.
- Understanding of P&ID’s and use of Live P&ID’s is desired.
- (TPM) Delivering solutions that are at step 3 of autonomous maintenance.
- This position should have the knowledge and ability to design, create, develop, supervise installation and commissioning of Power systems and full distribution systems, experience with arc flash compliance and global power distribution and safe maintenance procedures compliance.
- Focus will be placed on partnering with operations/technical leaders to understand and solve business needs by integrating off-the-shelf solutions or developing new solutions where no-off-the shelf technology exists.
- Leveraging partnerships with best in industry vendors to drive innovation through emerging technologies
- Projects may be in any manufacturing plant within Glass composite global enterprise.
Leading and Developing Talent – Builds solid performing teams and works to develop and engage team members according to growth plans.
- Actively discover and develop global electrical engineering partners.
- Facilitate and create capability mapping by region– to create a clear picture of the capabilities and skills of engineering partners and how they are aligned to our enterprise footprint.
- Leads and engages single or cross-functional project teams, which are accountable for design, development, and implementation of defined solutions.
- Recommends and supports project-specific mentoring relationships for growth areas on the project and helps to secure the commitment of the mentor / expert.
- Provides clear feedback – both routine feedback and formal feedback
Manage Relationships with Internal & External Partners – Builds and grows external partners’ capacity to augment achievement of business outcomes and provide innovative solutions to drive step change
- Develops upfront communication of corporate vision, objectives, and constraints.
- Set expectations of service and performance levels
- Streamlines organizational goals to be supporting and complimentary in nature.
- Explores full potential of partners capabilities and skill sets and links partner ability to align with desired business outcome.
- Plans and facilitates a seamless enterprise development of project requirements, standards, testing procedures, and templates.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree, Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 10-15 years in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated technical and leadership skills. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have very broad background including hands on experience with industrial power and control systems as well as technical project management.
- Travel required (20 – 35% global)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- TPM experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Project Leadership – previous execution of small to large scale projects, including initiatives with global reach, technology, processes, cross-functional teams and partner team members.
- Partner Relationships – experience with cross-functional teams that include third party expertise. Aptitude to build strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership.
- Project Management Science / Capability – training and application of industry best practice processes and tools regarding the effective management of projects, including, but not limited to, scope, schedule, cost, risk, resource, and issue management.
- Strong Communications – effective planning and execution of communications for stakeholders, both written and verbal.
- Business Acumen – experience with business operations; aptitude / desire to grow in the knowledge of the Glass composite business; conveyance of business acumen to project team members.
- Global Perspective –understanding of how Glass Composite Business operates business globally.
