Initial focus will be weighted toward HR systems and process responsibilities, while supporting events and providing coverage across the Science & Technology administrative support team. Over time, the role is expected to balance to approximately 50% HR and 50% S&T.

Job Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Support core HR processes, including talent review, compensation planning, performance management, employee changes, and organizational updates.
  • Manage hiring administration: requisitions, offer letters, pre-hire screening, interview coordination, onboarding, and early-career and intern programs.
  • Administer leave, compliance, and employment documentation (leave of absence, I-9, work authorization, agreements).
  • Prepare HR and workforce reports, ensuring data integrity through accurate, timely processing.
  • Partner with HR service teams to resolve payroll, benefits, compensation, and policy questions.

Science & Technology

  • Lead event support, including planning, logistics, communications, materials, facilities, and technology for onsite and offsite meetings.
  • Provide planned vacation and workload coverage across the administrative support team to maintain continuity.
  • Support purchasing and transactions: purchase cards, purchase orders, invoices, contracts, supplies, and memberships (SAP).
  • Build working knowledge of S&T teams, systems, and standard work to provide increasingly independent support.
  • Assume additional S&T administrative responsibilities as capability grows.

Shared Support

  • Provide general administrative support across both functions: calendars, meetings, travel, files, and logistics.
  • Support selected Granville site, community, safety, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and escalate risks when needed.
  • Learn the S&T and HR organizations, stakeholders, systems, purchasing, and event standards.
  • Partner with experienced associates, progressively owning defined responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of administrative and/or Human Resources experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; working knowledge of pivot tables, lookups, and formulas is preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting leaders and teams in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events, meetings, travel, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Experience managing relationships and communicating effectively with internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and HR systems such as SuccessFactors is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with others, leveraging technology, and improving administrative processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organization, prioritization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Clear, proactive written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and seek guidance or escalate when appropriate.
  • Ability to learn new functions, processes, and systems quickly and apply that learning across assignments.
  • Strong customer and service orientation with the flexibility to shift between HR and S&T priorities.
