PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

The Continuous Improvement Specialist OEM is accountable to analyze current operations performance and implement solutions to improve the operational effectiveness. This individual will turn policy & views into operational targets and feasible operational processes, with the goal of delivering the right value to our customers while minimizing the total process costs.  Raise the operational performance of the OEM plants and OEM process through the implementation a problem-solving approach.  The Continuous Improvement Specialist OEM is a mentor and change agent for all levels of the organization, from senior leadership down through the organization. Location: Granville or Columbus area. Ability to travel up to 40%.

 

Reports to:  Costing and margin Enhancement Leader

 

Span of Control:  OEM Manufacturing process and Engineering and Design Process

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Analyze and improve organizational processes with a focus on manufacturing support for sales.

  • Accountable for action plan around the execution of the Continuous Improvement strategies developed.
  • Manage projects and work effectively through others when needed. 
  • Anticipate and eliminate barriers to success.
  • Set accountabilities across teams and follow up on action items.
  • Provide recognition for successes around initiatives.

 

 

Collaborate across the OEM organization teams to identify opportunities for process enhancement.

  • Work with the OEM team to develop the master plan and subsequent strategies for the implementation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, engineering, and other teams to understand the current performance challenges, while developing sound solution strategies
  • Partner with internal and external consultants to effectively support and implement initiatives.
  • Engage and inspire teams at all levels and across functions to achieve results.
  • Build and maintain organizational support at all levels for key initiatives.

 

 

Development of the Continuous Improvement Strategy

  • Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement activities, such as Kaizen events, to optimize.
  • Develop and implement strategies for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented changes and ensure sustainable improvements.
  • Identify, track, and communicate the metrics that will measure progress.

 

Lead and Develop Talent

  • Elevate the OEM team proficiency and utilization of the right processes and toolsets to solidify the operations.
  • Develop and deliver training as needed to build knowledge and awareness across the plant.
  • Solve problems by engaging others

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field
  • Prior experience with Continuous Improvement process (TPM Desired)
  • Demonstrated ability to improve business results by working through others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change to deliver results

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • TPM experience
  • Functional leadership in a complex environment
  • Project Management / Major programs deployment
  • Engineering background
