This job description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other work assignments not mentioned which require comparable skills, efforts, and experience. It is expected that the essential duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Mechanical Lead (AMS) job will require 20% leadership work and 80% on actual tool time.

 

The person in this classification is expected to perform as a professional, highly skilled, and exceptionally competent maintenance person and leader. Responsible for leading the day-to-day work associated with maintaining a running plant & scheduling of maintenance personnel. Must be able to analyze causes of breakdowns and initiate corrective measures. Completes required records and reports. Lead and participate in teams to develop and implement engineering solutions.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Must work safely and follow all documented and “common sense” safety policies and procedures.
  • Must ensure the maintenance team complies with site Energy Control Procedures (ECP's) and Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) system. Must have respect for the potential hazards within the manufacturing operation and ensure the maintenance team takes the necessary precautions. Training and regular auditing of the process.
  • Follows all environmental compliance polices & programs.
  • Must ensure safe rigging procedures.
  • Computer literacy – email, simple spreadsheet, word doc, SAP.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, how to analyze a problem and step to the root cause. Avoids “replace and see what happens method.”
  • Installs, modifies, or maintains plant equipment and is the driver to help the team determine appropriate methods to accomplish these tasks.
  • Inspects plant equipment to identify potential problems prior to breakdown occurrences.
  • Lead and participate in teams to develop and implement engineering solutions.
  • Responsible for all planning and scheduling activities.
  • Communicate job status daily to plant leadership.
  • Develop tentative maintenance schedule one week in advance and communicate with maintenance personnel and plant leadership. Order necessary parts and materials appropriately so jobs can be completed as scheduled.
  • Review maintenance schedule daily with all maintenance personnel and plant leadership. Job out maintenance tasks to maintenance team daily.
  • You must review maintenance notifications daily and ensure notifications get converted to work orders and scheduled appropriately.
  • Mange work order system in SAP. Daily, ensure work orders are getting closed, and time added or pushed appropriately. On a continuous basis, ensure that schedule is maintained and current. Ensure all maintenance activities are captured for yearly shutdowns and periodic pit stops.
  • Responsible for ensuring spare parts get ordered and restored once issued out of store stock inventory.

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Basic PLC training
  • Must be able to learn the responsibilities of this position.

 

 

Experience:

Preferably five (5) years in a related maintenance trade or occupation that involved electrical or hydraulic machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to demonstrate trouble-shooting techniques. Must have an advanced understanding of electrical and hydraulic circuitry. Must have the ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Must be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision with drive toward accomplishment, and to produce high quality work.
