Quality Process Lead

SUMMARY

As the Process Lead and under the direction of the Technical Leader the incumbent will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment and processes, recommending and supporting improvements in the manufacturing processes, and leveraging technical knowledge to optimize operations, quality, and/or productivity throughput based on customer specifications.

 

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates as a support agent in partnership with operations in resolving process-related or technical support for issues focused on reducing material waste and raw materials, ensuring quality product is produced, supporting product trials (as necessary), and optimizing the manufacturing process to minimize product cost.
  • Owns development and maintenance of operator standard work documents such as SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures), machine specific equipment documents, new equipment/process changes, and other process related materials for safe operations.
  • As gatekeeper of process and equipment settings incumbent will document, maintain, audit, and secure relevance and compliance through Ease and Ignition (internal applications).
  • Ensure efficiency of process control equipment.
  • Provide and partner on recommendations equipment plans and layout(s).
  • Develop, run, and investigate process or product issues.
  • Periodically participate in the technical network to share Best Practices and communicate plant performance.
  • Support plant TPM (Total Production Maintenance) journey with accountability to the FI (Focused Improvement) Pillar by analyzing losses, delivering training, understand and apply 5S initiatives, and utilizing structured problem solving for improvement captures.

  • Demonstrated experience with data analytics software or methods.
  • Proven leader (informal or formal) who embraces transformation.  
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

 

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

The employee must be able to:

  • Microsoft Office suite (Work, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Tableau, etc.), or equivalent
  • SAP knowledge

           

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The candidate should have the following:

  • 2-year Technical Post-secondary Degree (associate degree in Process Technology, Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering) 2 years of Lean Manufacturing exposure, and 3 years of demonstrated manufacturing process experience.

or

  • 4 years of demonstrated experience supporting Quality, Process Technology, Process Controls, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering and or lean manufacturing experience.

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work up to 8 hours in extreme hold/cold manufacturing environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – steel toed shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for task
  • Ability to sit or stand continuously for up to 8 hours.
  • Exposure to noise
  • Routinely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as work area requires
