Work Location & Shifts: 970 Route 11, Kirkwood, NY 13795 | 1ST shift starting at 6:00 AM

Pay:   The hourly pay rate for this position is $21.00 + benefits.  Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.   This information is specific to Kirkwood and may not be applicable to other locations. 

 

What makes a successful team member:

Overview

Operates a spray painting system or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal, fiber glass, wood or vinyl door components. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials.

 

Responsibilities

  • Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color and prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns
  • Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures

and maintaining sprayer equipment as required

  • Applies paint, varnishes, and stains to interior and/or exterior door surfaces
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily
  • Willingness to take direction from area lead and to be a self-starter when not working under direct supervision
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • General knowledge of paint equipment such as paint guns and paint applications.
  • Must be able to read/interpret work orders
  • Ability to efficiently use air/hand tools to paint product, ability to read/understand humidity chart
  • Operate pneumatic paint tools and accessories
  • Ability to lift 70+lbs
  • Regular attendance and timeliness
  • Follow all operational and safety SOP’s as written

 

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of paint systems preferred
  • 2+ years of industrial paint experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of paint and equipment, basic math and reading work orders.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to solve problems quickly
