Work Location & Shifts: 970 Route 11, Kirkwood, NY 13795 | 1ST shift starting at 6:00 AM

Pay:   The hourly pay rate for this position is $22.00 – 25.00 + benefits.  Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.   This information is specific to Kirkwood and may not be applicable to other locations.

Overview

Maintain quality processes by recording and analyzing data. Lead control plans and process documentation as well as problem solving efforts. Play an active role in quality procedures and process improvement efforts to ensure that product meets specification and customer expectations. Work primarily in the manufacturing environment. Collect metric data points, analyze quality data, apply quality tools and fundamental statistical methods to process control and improvements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in internal process and product audits
  • Perform various levels of inspection: incoming, in-process, and finished goods
  • Input data to quality database systems for capturing, analyzing, and providing timely and accurate reporting
  • Develop process plans to ensure full compliance of product standards and specifications
  • Participate in implementing product quality improvements to reduce process variation and prevent defects
  • Troubleshoot, Identify and analyze root-causes and work with the appropriate teams to implement solutions
  • Support activities to build quality into the product through process improvements and proactive planning
  • Actively lead Yellow Lean & Yellow Six projects to improve performance
  • Lead Kaizen events on manufacturing floor with cross functional teams
  • Train employees on QA tools and techniques as required
  • Perform customer and supplier visits as required, including presentations of quality data
  • Determine acceptability of finished product by collecting, classifying, and analyzing production and quality data
  • Identify raw material condition by collecting material samples; conduct inspections and request testing as required
  • Determine acceptability of rework by conducting inspections and physical tests of reworked product
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office programs including MS-Excel, MS Word, and MS Power-Point
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Precision measuring instruments (i.e. CMM, calipers, micrometers), gauges and tools
  • PLC programming experience a plus

 

Qualifications

  • AA or AS degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and understanding of a quality production environment
  • Six Sigma or Lean GB certification highly desired or ability to attain within 1 year
  • Certified Quality Auditor certification from ASQ highly desired or ability to obtain within one year
