Job Title: Material Handler

Position Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials throughout the warehouse or production facility. This role ensures that materials are accurately received, stored, pulled, and delivered to the appropriate areas to support daily operations. The Material Handler helps maintain inventory accuracy, supports production flow, and upholds all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all plant safety regulations and OSHA guidelines.
  • Receive, unload, and move materials using manual and powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and powered tuggers.
  • Operate all powered industrial vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Pull and deliver materials to production lines, workstations, or designated storage areas based on daily schedules or work orders.
  • Accurately scan, tag, and record inventory transactions in warehouse management systems.
  • Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain proper rotation of inventory (FIFO) as required.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of packaging and staging areas (5S standards).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
  • Experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
  • Basic computer or scanning system proficiency for inventory tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role is a physically demanding role. Can be exposed to bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and working at a fast pace.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
