Job Title: Logistics Team Lead

Job Overview:

The Logistics Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the logistics department, ensuring efficient receipt, movement, staging, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This role provides hands‑on leadership to the logistics team, supports problem‑solving, drives safety and quality standards, and ensures all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule to meet customer and production demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and enforce all safety policies and equipment guidelines.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and support corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure materials and finished goods are handled and transported without damage.
  • Support quality investigations, inventory accuracy efforts, and rootcause problem solving.
  • Lead, guide, and support logistics team members in daily tasks, including material handling, palletizing, staging, shipping and receiving activities.
  • Train new and existing team members on processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and support development opportunities.
  • Assist with scheduling, workload planning, and shift coordination.
  • Oversee material flow throughout the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate staging, loading, and inventory movements.
  • Verify that products are scanned, labeled, packaged, and documented correctly.
  • Ensure work instructions, shipping/receiving requirements, and standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and shipping/receiving teams to resolve logistics issues quickly.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, and daily activity logs.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Provide updates to supervisors or management regarding productivity, staffing needs, and operational priorities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with implementing solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (associate’s degree or higher preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or material handling.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership position is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Proficiency with computer skills and apps including Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and other MS Office apps required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
