Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician – Nephi Plant

Position Summary:
The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician ensures the operating integrity of the Nephi plant by troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and installing plant equipment. This role supports the plant’s safety, productivity, and quality goals by resolving process issues and maintaining equipment. Technicians work in a team-based, self-managed environment with high levels of collaboration to solve problems, perform maintenance, and operate electronic-driven production systems.


Compensation:

This is a full-time, hourly position with a competitive pay range of $32.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and demonstrated skills. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process based on a candidate’s qualifications and alignment with the role’s requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all plant rules and safety regulations.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support for the entire manufacturing operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment including PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), VFDs, 3-phase motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems.
  • Perform electrical work on high-voltage systems (up to 480V).
  • Participate in Pre-Task Planning and hazard identification.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment and performance issues.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Collaborate with Team Coordinators to address performance opportunities.
  • Assist in implementing Operator and Maintenance Standard Work.
  • Work from planned and reactive work orders; complete SAP documentation.
  • Develop and execute PM and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Support automation projects and plant utility operations.
  • Perform complex rebuilds and modifications of plant systems and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively across teams to ensure operational success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Leader.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and 3-phase motor systems.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
  • Experience working with 480V electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and control schematics.
  • Strong computer skills (SAP, Email, IPOP, IP21, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Prior maintenance experience required.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance technician role.
  • Proficient in SAP for parts identification, work orders, and reporting.
  • Understanding of RWP procedures and safety compliance.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and during breakdowns as needed.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Regular on-site attendance and ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Occasional use of respirator protection.
  • Continuous exposure to hot/cold temperatures and noise.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, twisting, and hand/eye coordination.
