This position is responsible for the tactical execution of the planning/replenishment of raw materials at the North Platte Interior Door facility. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain Management at the site level. In this role, the individual is expected to set and achieve inventory targets, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers. The individual will work closely with the Plant Leader, Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and our suppliers to ensure quality, specification and delivery requirements are met. The individual will ensure proper engagement in purchases and projects, resolve escalated questions from the plant SCM’s and other Plant Operations stakeholders and proactively identify, develop, and drive mitigation plans on potential issues to ensure uninterrupted supply to the North Platte facility.     

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain Management to include the direct leadership of all Material Preparation employees
  • The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of onsite Customer Service and Scheduling.
  • Complete daily replenishment activities to support raw materials requirements at the site level
  • Monitor inventory levels to achieve targeted inventory days on hand
  • Set and manage planning parameters (contract pricing, safety stock, min/max, lead times, forecasts, MOQ’s, etc.) in the planning systems
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with global sourcing teams to execute material sourcing strategies.
  • Perform daily spot counts of shipping materials (pallets, glue, cardboard, etc.).
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts to maintain 95% or higher inventory accuracy.
  • Execute full physical inventory of all materials and manage offsite warehouse inventory.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to Layup lines for uninterrupted production.
  • Generate purchase orders for shipping items and coordinate inbound/outbound truck shipments.
  • Process and validate all material adjustments.
  • Monitor CNC production output and ensure optimal performance.
  • Verify daily accuracy of cuts and substitutions.
  • Update tier boards with daily production figures.
  • Report material outages, back-orders, reorders, and late production to site leadership and customer service teams.
  • Partner with corporate teams to implement Project Phoenix at the site level.
  • Participate in weekly material calls with corporate stakeholders.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects as assigned.
  • Approve vacation requests for direct reports and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Education

  • Associates degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent preferred

Certifications

  • Certified Purchasing Management (CPM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), or Senior Professional Supply Management (SPSM) certification highly desirable

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) and customer service experience
  • Experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, and supply chain finance
  • Proven ability to manage multiple warehouses in a fast-paced setting
  • Familiarity with Kaizen, 5-S, and wood product manufacturing preferred
