Position Overview
The Forklift Operator – 1st Shift works Monday through Thursday from 4:30am to 3:00pm, with occasional Fridays as needed. This role supports various warehouse and production activities as directed by a Supervisor or Lead, following all assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The ideal candidate works with speed, precision, and strong attention to detail while meeting required deadlines. Safety is a top priority and is woven into everything we do at Owens Corning Doors.
Key Responsibilities
- Load trailers with requested materials from the 605 building
- Unload trailers and containers efficiently and safely
- Stage and organize incoming products in designated areas to optimize workflow and space
- Occasionally assemble glass transoms
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated forklift operation skills
- Strong understanding of products and warehouse processes
- Ability to anticipate next steps and think ahead
- Familiarity with Masterpak systems (preferred)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail with sustained focus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to following all safety policies and procedures
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for up to 10-hour shifts
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid state driver’s license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience/certification preferred
- Ability to successfully pass a forklift operation test
