SUMMARY

The TPM Shift Coordinator is an hourly position that reports to the Operations Leader. The TPM Shift Coordinator is responsible for increasing TPM activities by all team members, specifically Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Focused Improvement (FI) pillars. This position works closely with the TPM Coordinator.

 

The primary responsibilities are to be the lead coordinator of AM and FI activities on shift.  This position is a leadership position and is expected to engage other operators in creating and maintaining an environment that encourages and empowers employees through skill development and TPM engagement and execution.

 

The successful TPM Shift Coordinator will drive measurable results as seen in various KPIs and KAIs such as loss reduction (DT/ST), CILT completion %, Tag creation and closure %, OPLs created, AM master plan completion, etc. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • TPM Leadership Experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to train and influence others.
  • Ability to encourage all employees to build strong working relationships and communication through sharing, respect, candor, integrity, innovation, accountability, and fun.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, listening, coaching, delegation, and conflict management and resolution.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs audits daily to ensure process monitoring yields the highest benefit (e.g. hourly check sheets, layered process audits, etc.).
  • Audits shift tasks to ensure compliance to Standardized Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure shift completion of CILT standard.
  • Coach team members to write and teach OPLs when applicable teachable moments occur.
  • Ensure daily focus on AM execution plans taking advantage of uptime and downtime opportunities to progress forward.
  • Supports any/all roles when upset conditions occur.
  • Participates in and leads FI/Continuous improvement events.
  • Support 5S events in various work areas throughout plant including audits and step progress.
  • Ensure shift adheres to and helps develop all written process documentation including but not limited to; standard work, one-point lessons, control and reaction procedures, JHA’s, set up sheets, process parameters and product changeover guides.
  • Partner with operators in early identification of potential equipment failures and input of work notifications through the proper channels (SAP/Red Tags/Blue Tags/Etc.)
  • Clear and constant communications with coordinators both on shift and with other shifts as well as all other team members on shift.

 

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Industrial manufacturing environment with temperature variation
  • Exposure to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable- hearing protection is provided; required in certain areas of the plant
  • Bending and twisting; repetitive movements
  • Be able to climb up to three floors or stairs, use full upper body movement for process; stand up to 12 hours with breaks.
