SUMMARY
This person is a member of the Portland Roofing Warehouse team. The successful candidate will work with the warehouse team to follow processes to safely load Owens Corning shingles and accessories on to customer trucks.
This role requires forklift experience, as well as a high attention to detail.
Shift: Typical shift schedule is Monday-Friday on 8 hour day shift (7:00AM – 3:30PM). Overtime should be expected during peak delivery season(s).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Comply with all plant rules, including safety regulations
- Comply with all forklift safety procedures and rules
- Handles all safety issues and conflict directly, honestly, and professionally
- Maintain good housekeeping in the warehouse
Quality
- Must display a high attention to detail when loading trucks to ensure customers receive the correct products
- Alert warehouse and roofing leadership of any noted defects in OC products
- Conduct warehouse quality audits as required
Other
- Team communication and basic computer skills required
- Must become certified to operate a forklift
- Hold team members accountable for expectations
- Attend and participate in meetings and training
- All other duties as assigned or needed

- Must be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision
- Demonstrated the ability to multi-task
- General math skills
- Able to effectively communicate in English
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
- Have basic computer skills such as MS Office and Outlook
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or being willing to obtain GED within first year of employment
- At least 2 years of prior warehouse (forklift) experience is preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Working outside with temperature variation and precipitation
- Exposure to sounds or high noise levels (hearing protection is provided and required in certain areas)
- Repetitive movements, such as bending, twisting, climbing, and/or going up/down stairs
- Handle OC shingles and accessories (lift up to 35 lbs)
- Handle, control or feel objects, tools or control
It is a requirement to be a U.S. citizen OR have valid proof of authorization to work in the United States.
Must complete and pass a pre-employment background check, hair drug screen, and confidential medical review.
