PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Maintenance Leader is a key member of the Plant’s Natural Leadership Team (NLT) and reports directly to the Site Leader. This person is responsible for building and fostering a culture consistent with Owens Corning’s Safety Stand. The position is accountable to partner with other NLT members and deliver stable and reliable plant operations while driving out all forms of waste.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, training, development, and engagement of all Roofing maintenance employees. In addition, they must demonstrate a proven track record of leadership and sustained performance associated with plant maintenance programs and operations. Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, driving change and achieving results through employee engagement are required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Re-enforce a strong commitment to live our safety stand and strengthen our safety culture.
Ensure a safe, clean environmentally compliant work environment and build a culture where safety is always a priority.
Develop hazard/risk assessments and safe plans of action for all critical tasks
Lead and support safety initiatives and processes to drive to zero incidents
Train and develop employees to safely perform their jobs and appreciate the value of 100% safety engagement
Participate in work area self-inspections, accident/incident investigations, and engaged in suggesting best practice for a safe work environment
Development and Execution of Plant Maintenance Strategy
Ensure maintenance strategy aligns with business strategy and operations plans
Improvement plans to drive plant operating performance and equipment reliability
Develop, plan a budget for and execute a people strategy that includes internal advancement opportunities, talent reviews, and succession plans
Display fiscal responsibility in managing the maintenance budget proactively- including labor, repairs, replacements, and good project management
Partner with relevant stakeholders to identify and address process improvement opportunities to eliminate waste, enhance safety, reduce cost, increase capacity and productivity, and improve the quality of our finished product
Directing Maintenance Operations
Lead the Jacksonville Maintenance Department to best-in-class safety and machine performance
Control/Reduce Operating Cost. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies, streamline processes and leverage resources to reduce cost.
Be a staunch advocate for RWP discipline and engage others toward the same.
Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on chronic maintenance issues or repairs
Execute effective PM and work order programs using predictive and preventive technologies
Be an engaged champion of TPM methodologies and PM Pillar Leader
Balance office and floor time appropriately to accomplish strategic imperatives while maintaining an understanding of the tactical issues to aid in prioritization within RWP process.
Effectively collaborate and builds strong relationships with production and technical teams

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of industrial manufacturing/maintenance assignments and experience
Minimum of 3 years of direct front line people leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Science, Industrial, or Operations)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Able to engage and care for people starting with Safety
Experience leading Reliability Work Process (RWP) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) highly preferred
Excellent at listening to team, following up on commitments, and building camaraderie
Strong process, engineering and technical abilities
