JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                               

  • Lives the Owens Corning Safer Together initiative and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment. Performs all functions of the job in a safe manner and promptly reports any unsafe behaviors to the shift supervisor.
  • Participates in the safety, quality, autonomous maintenance, TPM and housekeeping programs as established within the plant; including but not limited to Focused Improvement Events, Safety Committee, etc.
  • Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
  • Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations.
  • Performs heavy cleanup duties at workstations and/or equipment/machinery
  • Communicates safety concerns and/or equipment problems/abnormalities to appropriate personnel.
  • Supplies surface granules and backing material to machine bins.
  • Blends granules per standard formulas for each blend.
  • Operates conveying systems to blend and transport granules and sand to designated machine bins.
  • Assists with lacing and recovery of back end sheet break.
  • Reports improper operation of blending and application equipment to Process Lead, Lab Tech, and supervisor.
  • Monitors all associated equipment for the blending process, slate and sand supply and return systems.
  • Monitors blender, slate diverters, head/prime alignment, backing material for proper operation and makes necessary adjustments as needed to insure product quality and the maximum headslate, minimum prime slate and backing material usage.
  • Inspects sheet for proper blend drop and width, release film alignment, sheet walk and cooling water to insure a quality product.
  • Understands and fully completes area operator check sheets.
  • Conducts mini-audits on finished products as required.
  • Operates forklift.  Performs operator inspection of forklift on each shift; checks fluid levels and various forklift component systems for malfunctions and report problems.  Completes daily vehicle inspection forms.
  • Understand how to set up and apply release tape, SureNail, and secondary tape.
  • Understands how to stop and restart the machine as needed.
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two or more year of manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
  • Must remain drug and alcohol free

  10. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures (both hot and cold; plant is not climate controlled)

  13. Must work a flexible schedule that meets business needs. This includes but not limited to loading and unloading all daily shipments and deliveries, meeting goals of dwell time, etc.
  14. Must be able to work shifts up to 16 hours in duration
  15. Must operate necessary software to successfully perform job responsibilities
  16. Must be able to think and work under pressure and analyze information to identify solutions
  17. Must have and execute with sense of urgency

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED TRAINING

  • All annual safety and role specific training, as required by the nature of this position
  • Initial TPM autonomous steps 0-1 and additional training as site progresses
