Program Description:

 

Manufacturing Leadership Program participants serve two years of their program at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant for technical and leadership training. During this time, participants will be mentored by seasoned technical, operations and maintenance professionals. They will be challenged by the varied leadership opportunities found in a manufacturing environment. 

 

Plant based development includes:

 

  • Safety leadership
  • Supervisory leadership
  • Process and product technologies
  • Operational systems and management
  • Maintenance systems and management

 

Program participants will also serve a cross-functional rotation of 6-12 months in an area such as:

 

  • Corporate audit
  • Customer operations
  • Supply chain
  • Human resources
  • Products and programs

 

In addition, the participant will be expected to develop the following competencies essential to being an effective manufacturing leader:

  • Analytics & data based decision making
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with others
  • Elevates performance of self and others
  • Inspirational leadership

  

At the conclusion of their training, the Manufacturing Leadership Program graduate is placed in a full-time assignment in a technical or people leadership role at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Materials Science or an equivalent field
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Previous relevant internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations
  • Willingness and flexibility to relocate
