Work Location & Shifts: Sparta, TN  Monday to Thursday TIME 6AM TO 430 PM.

Pay:   Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.   This information is specific to Sparta and may not be applicable to other locations. 

What your day in this role might involve at OC:

In this role, you will support fabrication and maintenance operations by:

• Building new mechanical and electrical equipment from start to finish
• 40% travel to Owens Corning Doors- Endura facilities to install equipment, provide safety guarding, or support other operational needs.
• Operating in a full-service machine/fabrication shop equipped with:
• Manual gear lathe
• Manual knee mills
• CNC mill and CNC lathe
• MIG and TIG welders
• Sheet metal forming equipment
• General fabrication tools

What makes a successful OC Maintenance Tech team member:

Must haves include…

• Working knowledge of the fabrication and machining equipment listed above and at least one year of experience.
• Ability to travel when required, sometimes on short notice
• Willingness to work extended hours when traveling or supporting production
• Proficiency with hand tools (grinders, drills, wrenches, etc.)
• Ability to supply personal basic hand tools (specialty tools provided by the company)
• High school diploma or GED required, additional is preferred
• Age 18 or older
• Ability to work safely and follow all plant rules
• Clear and effective communication in English
• Strong initiative and self‑direction
• Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math

Nice to Have…

• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with CNC machines or electrical systems (not required but a plus)
• Ability to think clearly under pressure and make strategic decisions
• Comfort training or coaching others
• Experience using computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:

• Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
• Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 40-pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
• Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
