Reports to: Operations Leader
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:15pm-3:45am
Span of Control: 25 + employees
*Shift Rotation and Friday shifts may be required as business needs demand*
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Living the safety stand and adhering to safety responsibilities
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Lead safety training and awareness initiatives to reduce workplace hazards.
- Lead execution of monthly team safety requirements – including completion of behavior-based safety observations, near miss reporting, safe work permits, safety meetings, pre-shift safety inspections, departmental inspections, etc. and builds a culture where safety is the number one priority.
- Participates in the investigation of safety incidents and leads root cause analysis to drive for permanent resolution.
Achieve customer satisfaction and quality commitments.
- Understand and communicate customer expectations throughout the Operations Department, and ensure all products meet customer standards and requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate production to schedules in order to meet or exceed delivery to promise.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet output, efficiency, and quality targets.
- Perform root cause analysis with the involvement of operators on all quality issues and resolve.
- Train operators on problem solving skills, and coach through resolution.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to address variances.
- Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure products meet or exceed standards.
Leading and Developing Talent
- Engages all teams to collaboratively own the success of the business by contributing to continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, etc.
- Provides candid feedback on expectations and performance to members of the team on a regular basis and drives appropriate actions for further improvement.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate ongoing training and cross-training opportunities.
- Support career development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Invests in the growth and development of team members and others to achieve sustained success.
- Implements and documents corrective action when performance issues occur.
- Partners with relevant stakeholders to ensure team members are well trained and up to date on certifications required to perform the full scope of the job.
- Effectively communicates critical plant performance metrics to team members daily to ensure engagement.
Managing Operations
- Reaches mutually beneficial agreement with all operating departments on required capacity specifications. Capacity specifications are measured by Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or a similar metric that measures capacity related to quality, availability, and performance.
- Analyses and communicates output data to the Leader on a regular basis.
- Assesses situations and acts to proactively mitigate potential problems.
- Ensure consistent product quality by guiding team members to analyze key process variables, maintain critical product and equipment information.
- Performs root cause analysis in partnership with key stakeholders to address quality issues and resolve those issues in a timely manner.
- Utilizes proper resourcing to meet cost targets.
- Partners with the maintenance staff to ensure the efficiency of plant equipment.
- Verify time and attendance reports ensuring processing and production needs are met.

- Maintain open lines of communication with team members through regular meetings, feedback sessions, and one-on-one check-ins.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Lead or participate in TPM, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement initiatives.
- Encourage employee involvement in problem-solving and innovation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to flex work hours as needed to fulfil company objectives
- Ability to work in a gritty, hands-on production environment
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and working around dust and particulates
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and production processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Previous experience in Microsoft Suite Programs
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, industrial or related environment or any other related experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt and continuous improvement experience
