Job Title: T&D Coordinator
Reports to: HR Leader
Location: Springfield, TN
Pay Rate: $23-$26/hr based on experience
Hours: Monday through Thursday 6am-4:30pm; must be able to adjust schedule or support alternate shifts as needed to meet training needs, with leader approval. OT as needed
Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 to be paid out as follows
- $500 at 90 days
- $500 at 180 days
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The T&D Coordinator supports the plant by coordinating, maintaining, and continuously improving the Training & Development system. This role helps advance employee capability, qualification readiness, standard work execution, safety, quality, and operational performance through effective training plans, documentation, tracking, and follow-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates Springfield training initiatives, site T&D Pillar activities, TPM training processes, and plant training priorities to strengthen employee capability, close skill gaps, and support business results.
- Manages the full training experience for assigned trainees from onboarding through qualification, including daily and long-range training plans, schedules, resources, and logistics.
- Supports and facilitates new-hire orientation and related onboarding training activities, including safety, plant expectations, standard work, required systems, and initial qualification requirements.
- Maintains training records, skills matrices, cross-training matrices, qualification check sheets, Talent Center/LMS records, and related documentation to ensure training progress and qualification status are current and accurate.
- Tracks and reports training hours, completion status, training center usage, trainee progress, skill gaps, follow-up actions, and applicable T&D KAIs/KPIs to support accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conducts classroom, hands-on, and web-based training as needed and facilitates communication between leaders, trainers, and employees to remove barriers and support successful training completion.
- Performs training needs assessments for new trainees and previously qualified employees, provides feedback to trainees and leaders, and develops action plans when additional support or requalification is needed.
- Supports new equipment, new processes, process changes, and Management of Change activities by updating training plans, standard work, skills matrices, and related training materials.
- Develops and maintains training materials, including standard work and PowerPoint presentations, while incorporating quality fundamentals, customer impact, safety expectations, and operational standards.
- Supports T&D audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation standards and evidence of training completion.
- Uses Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, Talent Center, and other applicable systems to support training documentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Maintains Train-the-Trainer qualification in job-specific areas as needed, including forklift training when applicable.
- Promotes safe work practices, supports the well-being of an injury-free workplace, and complies with all plant rules, safety and quality requirements, attendance expectations, housekeeping standards, and applicable workplace policies.
- Adjusts schedule or supports alternate shifts as needed to meet training needs, with leader approval.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned or needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
The employee must demonstrate the following abilities:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions, including safety rules, operating procedures, job-specific training materials, diagrams, and schedules.
- Must possess strong communication, presentation, facilitation, customer service, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently, collaborate in a team environment, and follow through on training plans.
- Must be able to coach, train, and provide constructive feedback to employees at varying skill levels.
- Must be able to apply basic calculations used in training documentation, reporting, and qualification tracking.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift driver’s license when required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting TPM, T&D Pillar, or continuous improvement activities.
- Experience maintaining skills matrices, qualification records, training documentation, or learning management system records.
- Experience facilitating hands-on training in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience using Talent Center, SAP, or similar business systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Computer and System Use
- Operate a computer and basic peripherals.
- Use basic computer applications and file navigation to support daily work activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment is required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must provide proof of valid authorization to work in the United States.
- Must meet applicable drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 12 hours at a time.
- Exposure to noise is usually moderate.
- Ability to bend, twist, and turn as needed to perform job duties.
- Full use of both hands to handle objects, tools, controls, and materials.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- Works around fiberglass insulation and follows applicable safety requirements.
