Job title: Inventory Supervisor  (Monday – Thursday 4am – 2:30/3pm and Friday – 4am – 11am)

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for the safe, quality-focused and efficient day-to-day operation of a manufacturing shift of personnel. The person in this role assumes the responsibility to ensure their staff is properly trained to perform their primary functions autonomously and creates and maintains a sustainable plan to cross train for maximum flexibility of their shift complement. 

Reports to: Material Planning Leader
Span of Control: Position is responsible for direct leadership of approximately 6 employees.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely material flow within the facility as well as timely delivery in receiving material from other locations as well as preparation for shipment to other facilities.
  • Oversee inventory management and control, accuracy, and established inventory guidelines and procedures.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements inventory operations and procedures.
  • Responsible for Physical Inventory Count and audits.
  • Verifies accurate of usage of all raw materials.
  • Set up inventory locations, keeping materials organized, and maximizing space utilization.
  • Oversees all receipts of raw materials and providing quality inspection.
  • Assist with the scheduling, coordinating and implementation of physical inventories.
  • Reconciles results from physical inventories expeditiously and accurately.
  • Provides analysis of inventory adjustments or revisions and ensure adjustments are audited, inspected, and properly tracked and documented.
  • Interfaces with Quality Manager on incoming material inspections.
  • Ensures accuracy and qualifies that raw materials meet Masonite supplier quality standards.
  • Report and fixes errors with Bill of Material (BOM) issues.
  • Maintains components report – updates team on status of incoming materials.
  • Maintain back-order report daily.
  • Perform visual review of on hands for items.
  • Reviews all direct materials and sundry materials routinely to support the business.
  • Places purchase orders for special orders.
  • Schedule deliveries.
  • ERP interfaces all required production floor and scheduling issues or requested changes.
  • Trains personnel on systems and processes as it relates to inventory Bin Location movement and adherence to the documented process.
  • Reviews daily inventory activity; maintains accurate inventory master files, manufacturer and catalog numbers, minimums, and material descriptions.
  • Provides follow-up assistance in assuring maximum scheduled performance
  • Maintains stocking, staging, and loading functions to Masonite specification
  • Maintains department records and keeps management informed of developments as occurred
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Facilitate Lean and Kaizen process improvement opportunities throughout shipping and receiving areas of the plant
  • Adjusts errors and complaints and applies company policies and procedures
  • Schedules loads in systems and assists with routing of certain loads
  • Updates changes in shipping systems, updates shipping log spreadsheet daily, file shipping documents.
  • Responsible for creating forecast inventory levels.
  • Operate forklift as necessary

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of applicable experience with inventory management in a manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience as an Inventory Supervisor handling procurement, purchasing, and inventory, preferable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience managing cycle counting and inventory maintenance in a high volume fast paced manufacturing or distribution setting highly desired.
  • Previous experience utilizing and maintaining inventory accuracies with a Warehouse Management System.
  • Experience with standard practices in development of bar-coding process for shop floor control of inventory management consumption and movement.
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Accuracy, Interpersonal and Time Management Skills.
  • Able to prioritize the flow of materials, focusing on tracking, storing and distribution.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Solid understanding in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Knowledge on  Stock Optimization and  Inventory Auditing
