Job Description: Shipping
Knowledge:
Run Special late reports - identify location of those doors. Verify tickets and doors match the shipping paperwork, thorough visual quality inspection, minor repairs, segregate green/white doors, stack and package special doors according to specials SOP, use MP to run labels, label doors, scan tickets onto placards. Communicating special/custom door needs to trimmer lead to expedite the process. Clean doors with air hose. Immediately communicate concerns with doors that will not meet the deadline.
Skill
Master pack knowledge, procedure for verification of production tickets/schedules, door types, quality specifications for visual checks, basic math, knowledge of defects, stacking/packaging procedures, knowledge of how to segregate doors based on the type of orders.
Responsibility
Master pack skills to run reports, labels, track orders, scan placards and print them. High attention to details and focus on quality, use of small hand tools, staplers read a tape measure to a 16th of an inch, use repair tools (touch up paint, putty, putty knife, glue gun, sander, and air hose)
High level of responsibility - Ensure all Specials are prepped for shipment within the lead time. ***This position is 100% responsible for plants Special fill rate.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift to 80 lbs., Bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and constantly on feet.
Mental Demands
Pace dependent on demand levels -moderate level of stress to locate and get doors pushed though the plant in time for the truck, high level of concentration to ensure orders/doors are correct.
Social
Good communication and social skills required, diplomacy to convince plant employees to push through product
Working Conditions
Mildly controlled environment - can expect cold and heat during extreme weather conditions. Moderate core dust.
