Work Location & Shifts:
7220 US Highway 158, Stokesdale, NC 27357

3:00PM – 1:30AM Monday-Thursday; OT as needed 

 

Pay:   The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.60 + benefits. This information is specific to Stokesdale, NC and may not be applicable to other locations. 

 

 

What your day in this role might involve at OC Stokesdale:

The primary purpose of this position is to machine accurate and quality materials for shipment.

 

        • Observe all safety rules and ensure crew works safely at all times.
        • Set-Up Machine in a timely fashion.
        • Follow proper set-up procedures to ensure clearance of parts through machine (setting guards, hold downs, etc.)
        • Only reject mouldings are to be used for set-ups.
        • Keep accurate daily paperwork. Learn to read and process orders on worksheets for end prep and haunch detail.
        • Responsible for achieving quality of work piece, end work and maintaining production of 6300 pcs daily.
        • Grade material off back of machine to appropriate customer specifications.
        • All quality checks must be signed off for accuracy by Lead or Supervisor.
        • Perform all duties of a crew member.
        • Putty and paint repairs as necessary.
        • Tie up finished units to be pulled and tagged properly.
        • Coordinate work with material handlers and any other people your work may affect.
        • Report any material handler deficiencies or machine problem immediately. 
        • Advise supervisor of unusual circumstances as needed.
        • Demonstrate the ability to delegate tasks and train crew members to run the machine center efficiently and accurately. 
        • Demonstrate the mechanical ability to troubleshoot problems and take steps to minimize down time to keep machine running safely at all times.
        • Use proper lockout/tag out procedures. This includes knowing how to set insert tooling.
        • Perform preventative maintenance of entire machine including lubrications.
        • Responsible for inspecting machine center at the end of the shift.
        • Ensure the machine and area is clean, organized and properly secured.

 

 

What makes a successful OC Stokesdale team member:

Must haves include…

  • Completion of 9th grade required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. 
  • Must work well with others and have good leadership ability.
  • Knowledge of the grades of all profiles and proper unitizing.
  • Capable of reading a tape measure, calipers and spec (details).
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions and learning all the functions of this machine.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable

 

Would be terrific if you also had…

  • Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with
    • Think under pressure, make quick and strategic decisions
    • Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have flexibility
    • Show initiative, be a self-starter, and be able to train and coach others
    • Operate a computer and Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Lockout/Tagout procedures

 

There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:

  • Do repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
  • Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination, some walking, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing stairs and lifting of approximately 35 lbs.
  • Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent.
  • Employee must be able to withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees.
