Work Location & Shifts:
7220 US Highway 158, Stokesdale, NC 27357

7:00AM – 3:30PM Monday-Thursday

5:00AM – 1:00OPM Friday; OT as needed 

 

Pay:   The hourly pay rate for this position is $19.60 + benefits. This information is specific to Stokesdale, NC and may not be applicable to other locations. 

 

 

What your day in this role might involve at OC Stokesdale:

To accurately receive in all incoming materials by verifying part numbers, quantities and lengths. Display a complete working knowledge of all components and provide excellent communication to affected coworkers of any receiving issues.

 

  • Learn the incoming raw parts.  Must be able to identify the parts, the part numbers and know where they are used.
  • Become familiarized with the RF Scan Gun, QAD and Purchase Orders with regards to receiving product.
  • Complete scanning knowledge and ability to perform POR, PLO, PUL, PDL, and PRV’s with minimal errors.
  • Assist in maintaining excellent housekeeping in the Receiving Area at all times.
  • Verify all counts of materials being received.  Must count each bundle or use scales to weigh count as needed.
  • Properly receive in UPS and FedEx materials and see that the packages get to the appropriate addressee.  Provide communication to the affected parties as well (email or phone).
  • Perform the job with good regard for safety and report all safety violations to a supervisor. 
  • Demonstrate excellent awareness when signing for material being sure to notice any damage or potential damage to the material.  Clearly marking the bill of lading to reflect “damaged” or “subject to inspection” on susceptible freight damage.
  • Consistently logging discrepancies with full, clear details in the purchasing spreadsheet.
  • Provide effective communication of receiving issues concerning all affected personnel in a professional manner.
  • Unload the incoming daily trucks.
  • Committing minimal errors while receiving product.  Catching mistakes as they happen and knowing how to correct them.
  • Check Receivers each time a PO is received to double check receipts.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with the receiving functions and properly file them away to receiving file cabinet.
  • Process returns and handle communication between the different work groups.  See the returns through the entire process of receiving to putting back into inventory for use.
  • Provide direction to new employees in the Receiving Department.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by Lead/Supervisor.

  • Be at least 18 Years Old
  • Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate excellent retention of training
  • Excellent attendance
  • Display a positive attitude and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and all other support groups
  • PC skills and the ability to effectively use Outlook, MS Word and navigate basic spreadsheets
  • Ability to use a Scan Gun
  • Able to read a tape measure and complete simple math
  • Be self-motivated working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Able to pass a written exam and driving test for forklift
  • Good hand eye coordination and mechanically adaptable to use forklift controls

 

Would be terrific if you also had…

  • Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

 

There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:

  • Perform frequent hand, wrist, and arm motions
  • Normal and corrected hearing along with good vision is required
  • Limited lifting in this position but there needs to be extreme attention to detail with good hand eye coordination
  • Max lifting standard is 35 pounds
  • Withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees
  • Be exposed to wood dust and aluminum with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent
