Work Location & Shifts:
7220 US Highway 158, Stokesdale, NC 27357

4:45AM – 3:15PM Monday-Thursday; OT as needed 

Pay:   The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.65 + benefits. This information is specific to Stokesdale, NC and may not be applicable to other locations. 

What your day in this role might involve at OC Stokesdale:

The primary purpose of this position is to recover the highest value from mis-manufactured, defective, or returned material which can be converted into salable product that will move in a reasonable timeframe and operate and maintain banding machinery to cut down banding strips. 

• Separate different colors of banding material
• Adjust machine settings for different banding tasks
• Troubleshoot and resolve machinery issues
• Ensure safety protocols are followed
• Load materials into banding machines and identifying which colors can be combined
• Monitor production output to identify defects
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
• Observe all safety rules and regulations
• Organize area for safe and efficient workflow
• Collaborating with team members to improve safety and efficiency
• Understand product configurations and features of all products
• Identify quality defects in product
• Setup saw machines to safely recover material
• Feed machine
• Read specification sheets
• Use putty and epoxy to repair defects
• Use measuring tape and caliper
• Check for quality
• Provide feedback to Quality Control, Inventory Control, Production Control, and Manufacturing environment to reduce the scrap being generated
• Exercise excellent housekeeping and organization habits
• Assist with preventative maintenance on equipment
• Work with maintenance to resolve equipment problems

What makes a successful OC Stokesdale team member:

Must haves include…

• High School Diploma or GED preferred and be at least 18 Years Old
• Communicate orally and in writing in a clear and effective manner
• Good hand-eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable
• Able to read, write, and understand to interpret documents like specs
• Able to read a tape measure and caliper
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Able to work independently

Would be terrific if you also had…

• Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting

There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:

• Lift 35lbs
• Stand for 10 hours
• Climb and descend stairs
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; walking; squatting; lift, push and pull 35-pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
• Be exposed to wood dust and aluminum with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent.
• Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
