SUMMARY
The primary objective of this position is to maintain a consistent uninterrupted production process to ensure consistent and predictable products are produced while relieving operators for breaks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be familiar and knowledgeable with all positions of the back end
- Relieve each person on the back end for their personal and lunch breaks as scheduled
- Operate all equipment safely, effectively and efficiently while giving breaks
- Perform product testing as required
- Operate lift truck in a safe and productive manner in accordance with all safety procedures
- Replace LP tanks as needed following all safety procedures
- Report any unusual or suspect material issues to the shift supervisor
- Housekeeping to ensure work areas are maintained and assist as requested in other areas
- Assist in lace up, product changes, color changes and perform other misc. duties required by shift supervisor
- Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor
- Participate in safety and good housekeeping programs established in the plant
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
- Notify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss accident or on-the-job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem
- Operate equipment only when you are trained in its use or are working with or under the direction of a qualified employee, and you are authorized to do so by your supervisor
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee should hold the following abilities:
- Knowledge of all back end positions
- Possess some leadership skills
- Knowledge of raw materials and quality products
- Good oral and written skills
- Basic mathematics skills and ability to use calculator
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
- Log into and navigate company intranet to access paycheck/benefits enrollment information
- Log into and navigate Learning Management system and accomplish required online training routinely
- Basic computer skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Have passed lift truck training program and have a forklift operators license
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Ability to routinely lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
- Ability to routinely lift up to 80 lbs with assistance
- Work for up to 12 hours in extreme hold/cold manufacturing environment
- Walk/stand on concrete floors continuously for up to 12 hours
- Routinely ascend and descend stairs to enter work areas
- Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – steel toed shoes, ear plugs, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for task
- Push/Drive floor sweeping and cleaning equipment or tools as necessary for housekeeping duties
- Lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs) from Auto Catcher to seconds re-wrap or recycle/trash receptacle.
- Ability to rotate and work shift work
- Ability to help with all line breaks and lace-ups
