Summary:

This position is instrumental to maintaining the plant's assets at peak performance levels through the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and efficient scheduling. Collaborating closely with the Maintenance Leader, this position will ensure that job plans are thorough and inclusive, with all necessary components identified prior to scheduling the work. This position coordinates job priorities and equipment availability to optimize workflow effectiveness. Leading the planning and scheduling of workload for all plant downtime events, this role partners with maintenance team members to ensure operational continuity.

 

During downtime events, effective coordination with external contractors and collaboration with the divisional engineering support team will be essential for successful project execution. Additionally, this role has key responsibilities in managing various capital projects, serving either as the project manager or technical expert as needed. The role also entails providing on-call support, highlighting the expertise and proactive nature required of a Maintenance Planner. TPM will be a fundamental aspect of this position, with KPI tracking and updates integral to this maintenance approach.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews all work notifications to determine the level of job plan required.
  • Prepares upcoming weeks maintenance schedule based on work order priority, production schedule, and machine availability.
  • Schedule all workload for maintenance team members. Work directly with Maintenance Leader to ensure completion of work.
  • Safety Guidelines in accordance with Safe Practices and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Supports plant safety teams as requested such as confined space, working from height, hot work, electrical safety, lock out tag out, etc.
  • Organizes any special tools and equipment.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors based on requirements.
  • Prepares requisitions for on-site contractor support and ensures policy adherence during on-site activities.
  • Review drawings, prints, and sketches
  • Verifies availability of parts and materials
  • Manage workorder kit process.
  • Work with receiving coordinator to issues/stages materials for routine maintenance tasks.
  • Manages and reports the work order backlog.
  • Run KPI or other required reports to support the Maintenance Department.
  • Work with Maintenance Leader to close-out work order documentation.
  • Maintains controlled documents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
  • Engage and support plant 5S and TPM initiatives; focused primarily on PM Pillar activities.
  • Work with maintenance leads to create, update, and maintain BOM structure within SAP.
  • Maintain total SAP structure based on OC MRG requirements.
  • Prepare, review, create and revise documentation for all PM tasks.
  • Review min/max levels with maintenance leads and adjust if necessary, according to history and direction of the Maintenance Manager
  • Purchasing/invoicing all spare parts, services, and other plant needs
  • Lead DAM and planning/scheduling meetings
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 1+ years of Maintenance Planner experience

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
  • 3+ years of Maintenance Planner experience
  • Post Secondary Technical Education Preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must be efficient with computers and all Microsoft Suite programs.
  • Must have proficient experience with SAP computer maintenance management system.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to follow through.
  • Experience and skills in: Project management, maintenance planning, and problem solving.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
