About the position
Join us in making the world a better place by reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions! Owens Corning Insulation manufactures and provides insulation materials that help customers and industries improve energy efficiency, with FOAMGLAS® playing a key role in delivering high-performance solutions for demanding applications. Owens Corning is fully engaged in reducing its own CO₂ emissions through a series of ongoing investments.
We are looking for a Technical Manager Benelux who will work in close collaboration with the Technical Lead Western Europe, the commercial teams across the Benelux area and the Central Technical Department, to enable profitable growth across our FOAMGLAS® solutions through strong technical support from specification to execution.
This is a pivotal role in the success of our business, as technical support is an integral part of our offering: The role combines engaged technical discussions and expertise with hands-on consultative project support during design and execution, while also contributing to selected key technical committees and monitoring developments related to sustainability and circularity to support the positioning of our solutions in an evolving market context.
What does success look like?
- Strengthens the sales process through high-quality technical support to sales teams, customers and project stakeholders, from project specification through to execution, including hands-on support on site where needed;
- Represents the FOAMGLAS® business in selected key technical committees, working groups and commissions to stay closely connected to current regulations and evolving national technical guidelines, and to actively defend and advocate the business interests, in coordination with the Technical Lead Western Europe and relevant internal stakeholders;
- Acts as the technical expert in customer meetings, presentations and events;
- Is a technical reference for sustainability-related topics, ensuring our solutions are correctly positioned in relation to environmental performance, regulations and market expectations;
- Works closely with the Central Technical Department to align technical documentation, share knowledge and ensure relevant information is effectively transferred to the sales teams;
- Maintains relevant contacts with test and certification institutes where required, in support of ongoing certification and local compliance activities.
Skills and capabilities necessary to succeed
- Ability to empower and care for others, starting with safety;
- Impactful oral and written communication;
- Comfortable working with standard digital tools/software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, BOX,…) and internal systems required for the role;
- Strong analytical mindset with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to technical challenges;
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities independently, take ownership of technical topics within the Benelux context, and contribute to achieving the company’s objectives;
- Understands that all business opportunities begin with a knowledge of creating value for the customer.
Business requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in a construction-related field such as engineering, architecture or similar, or equivalent through relevant professional experience;
- Experience in construction, engineering or technical project support, with the level depending on educational background and practical expertise;
