PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Associate Product Manager role will play a lead role in managing and executing programs that deliver growth for the markets we serve

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Associate Product Manager will be accountable for managing and executing projects to deliver needed products to the market.

Manage Product Projects

  • Manage and execute plans for growing sales and profitability of the business across Core Thermal Insulation
  • Develop a broad understanding of our products, customers and competitors and how best to serve the market
  • Manage projects that support the product strategy
  • Identify, as appropriate, opportunities to improve our core businesses to drive growth for OC
  • Measure, track and report project timelines and measurable goals
  • Assist with market research to align projects with market needs
  • Partner with channel marketing to make sure projects are planned and launched per the product roadmap
  • Report out monthly project attainment and keep Velocity up to date
  • Assist in Product Review Board meetings to keep projects moving through the Stages and Gates process
  • Responsible annual CFFU check process-to help with our Enterprise Quality Management System
  • Leads new process and procedures for product management in Core Thermals – making sure we are working with latest tools to be productive
  • Responsible for managing product project plan (RPM and GANTT charts) for compliance issues

Execute 5 Year Product Roadmap

  • Assist in the execution of the 5-year product roadmap.  This includes new product introductions, as well as system solutions that enable our customers to win in the marketplace.
  • Confirm the winning business cases for product or business model innovation.
  • Assist with research, and translate into actionable products, marketing programs and/or business opportunities with solid CFFUs in place
  • Assist Product Managers and help other functional areas to drive growth through the product roadmap product introductions

  

Manage the Ongoing Health & Profitability of Product Line

  • Manage cross-functional teams to develop and execute profitable portfolio strategy
  • Understand SKU rationalization principles and service guidelines, balancing product strategy and working capital goals.
  • Assist with product positioning, messaging, pricing and promotions to ensure the business delivers on its revenue and price attainment goals while avoiding unnecessary channel conflict
  • Learn about market assessment to identify mix, customer trends and margin drivers along with associated business recommendations.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience – proven results in organizing project and managing it thru - construction materials segment preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Understanding of quantitative analysis including: financial, statistical, and predictive modeling
  • Understanding of Owens Corning RPM process or project management best practices
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and influence cross functional teams to act and achieve goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the stage gated process
  • Understanding of traditional product management
  • Understanding of marketing best practices
  • Demonstrated experience of developing strong internal and external relationships (including research & development, operations, finance, sales, and external suppliers is highly desired.)
  • Experience encouraging ideas and possibilities through candor, open discussion, and constructive debate
