As a Business Communications Leader, you will serve as a strategic business partner responsible for aligning communications strategies with business objectives, growth priorities, and enterprise initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with executive leadership to translate complex business strategies into compelling narratives that drive engagement, strengthen market positioning, and support business performance.

 

You will lead internal and external communications strategies that enhance Owens Corning’s reputation, foster employee engagement, and ensure consistent, credible messaging across stakeholders. This role requires strong strategic thinking, executive presence, and the ability to influence outcomes across a global, matrixed organization.

 

POSITION LOCATION: Toledo, OH preferred; will also consider qualified candidates in Metro Detroit, MI, Chicago, IL, Columbus, OH, or Tampa, FL (hybrid)

 


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies that align with business objectives, growth priorities, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape and communicate business strategy, market positioning, and organizational priorities.
  • Translate complex business, market, and competitive insights into clear, compelling communications that drive understanding and action.
  • Lead strategic communications initiatives that support business performance, market adoption, reputation, and stakeholder confidence.
  • Develop and execute internal and external communications plans that reinforce Owens Corning’s brand, values, and long-term vision.
  • Shape executive thought leadership strategies, including executive messaging, speaking engagements, and leadership communications.
  • Lead media relations efforts, including proactive storytelling, issue management, and crisis communications planning and execution.
  • Develop executive presentations, keynotes, enterprise announcements, and other high-impact communications materials.
  • Coach and advise senior leaders to effectively communicate strategy, lead through change, and engage internal and external audiences.
  • Establish communications governance processes that ensure consistency, alignment, and effectiveness across channels and stakeholders.
  • Partner with Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, and Business leaders to deliver integrated communications strategies.
  • Leverage data, feedback, and performance metrics to evaluate communications effectiveness and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Support enterprise change management efforts by creating communication strategies that build trust, transparency, and engagement.
  • Drive operational excellence through scalable communications processes, tools, and best practices.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, including experience supporting senior executives and business leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience developing communications strategies that support business objectives and influence organizational outcomes.
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership to develop strategic messaging and communication plans.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand market dynamics, competitive environments, and organizational priorities.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build alignment across diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing sensitive issues, executive communications, and reputation-related initiatives.

 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, building products, or other complex business environments.
  • Experience supporting global organizations and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience leading media relations, crisis communications, or reputation management initiatives.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, transformation, or enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Experience developing executive thought leadership platforms and external communications strategies.
  • Familiarity with communications measurement, analytics, and performance reporting.
