The Governance and Systems Analyst role resides in the GBS organization, within the Global Finance Operations and Reporting (GFOR) team.  The role is accountable for leadership and execution of GBS Business Information (BI) governance for our reporting and analytics tools and partnering with IT on standard and sustainable BI environment.  The role is critical to ensuring a data foundation that is reliable, accurate and relevant.  The role requires knowledge of best practices pertaining to business information, a track record for executing projects, passion for developing and implementing standards and defining processes.  Must have a demonstrated ability to drive alignment, effectively communicate, and influence others.

 

The successful candidate will bring direct experience in leading through influence, process definition and implementation of standardized tools and reporting.  The candidate will help to enable the GBS strategy and drive key principles that are core to the organization.

Job Responsibilities

 

Governance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor governance frameworks, standards, and procedures for the organization
  • Provide guidance and advise leadership on governance matters, such as compliance, risk management, accountability and roadmap execution
  • Provide guidance and support to BI stakeholders on BI governance matters, such as data quality, security, access, usage, and compliance.
  • Coordinate and facilitate governance activities, including governance for SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Power BI, Business Objects and partner with IT on governance for overall Business Information environment
  • Prepare and review governance documents, such as policies, reports, agendas, minutes, and resolutions
  • Conduct research and analysis on governance best practices, trends, and benchmarks
  • Oversee and maintain the governance framework for SAC, Power BI, Business Objects
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in BI governance and recommend improvements and enhancements to the existing framework.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, such as business users, IT, and vendors, to communicate governance requirements and resolve issues
  • Organize, plan and set priorities based upon deadlines, timelines and what is considered most critical and beneficial for Owens Corning
  • Set the best course of action and aggressively implement plans to achieve timely and efficient results

 

Business Information Readiness

  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather and analyze data requirements for Business Information as part of SAP S4 deployments
  • Responsible for supporting IT and business teams in preparing the business intelligence environments and processes for SAP S4 deployments
  • Work closely with IT project managers, SAP consultants, and business stakeholders to understand the data requirements, design of data models, and develop reports and dashboards for the SAP S4 solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across the business intelligence environments
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in business intelligence, including SAP S4
  • Drive towards simple, standard and automated

Job Requirements

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Aptitude to build strategic and execution-focused plans and partner with leadership
  • Experience working in an environment with an established governance process is preferred
  • Training and application of best practice processes and tools for effective management of projects
  • Experienced with business operations; aptitude / desire to grow in the knowledge of Owens Corning
  • Strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of governance principles, frameworks, and standards
  • Proficient in SAP Business Objects, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI.
  • Knowledge of SAP S4 data structures, business processes, and functionalities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
