PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

The Global Commercial HR Director serves as the strategic business partner for the global @ $.3.7B Insulation business, across all commercial and marketing teams. This role is critical to achieving the business strategy, and is pivotal in aligning HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring the business can achieve both its short and long term goals. The HR Director will play a key role in driving organizational effectiveness, elevating organizational capabilities and employee engagement across the function globally.

 

This role fosters and leads the enterprise perspective across the diverse portfolio of Insulation business’ to drive above market growth. The role provides direct HR leadership for the Insulation General Managers, Enterprise Builder Vice President and the Vice President of Strategic Marketing.  This role also has direct functional leadership for the HR professionals supporting those leaders, as well as dotted line reporting of the commercial HR teams in all regions, LA, Canada and EU.  Total span of employees supported is @1,000.  Functional leadership span is 15-20.  In addition, this role is accountable for leading and executing the HR Functional Excellence and Inclusion & Diversity strategies as well as the Insulation wide key talent processes specific to performance management, talent development and succession planning.

 

This role has regular interaction and ability to influence the full Insulation Leadership Team, including all VP’s and Business President.

Toledo WHQ or Columbus, OH are ideal locations.  Hybrid work (T-TR) in office expectations.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Global Commercial HR Director

  • Provide strategic HR leadership to the global commercial function, delivering above market growth, unparalleled commercial excellence and an iconic brand
  • Diagnose organizational effectiveness, influence change and lead a talent strategy to develop needed capabilities for the future
  • Understand drivers of change for the insulation business and effectively creates and executes a talent strategy to achieve business outcomes
  • Lead change, facilitating systematic design of the organization (OD) and the effective change and global stakeholder management
  • Utilize Owens Corning and industry best practices associated with talent management, performance management, talent acquisition & on boarding, succession planning, retention, talent development
  • Coach, develop and lead team of HR business partners to provide strategic support to their teams, managing both the unique complexities of each business and function, while laddering up the business-wide strategy
  • Accountable for building and delivering market-leading reward systems, effective in attracting, retaining, and motivating employees while aligning with business objectives

 

Insulation Talent Strategy

  • Plays a key role in developing and executing the business-wide talent strategy, ranging from succession planning, leadership pipelines, capability development, inclusion and development and talent process execution
  • Stays up to date on market trends and talent to drive the right behaviors across commercial teams with a multi-dimensional talent strategy to support
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to scale capabilities across the business
  • Deliver Commercial excellence org design, impact and ROI across the business
  • Evolve the product management function to meet the needs of the business today and tomorrow through the creation and execution of the learning curriculum for product management and other scalable capabilities to deliver best in class training

 

Leading & Developing Talent

  • Lead, coach and teach Human Resource leaders throughout the team and function to create an environment where talent is developed through effective coaching, performance management and talent evaluation. 
  • Creates, provides and teaches processes, tools and knowledge, for people leaders to build the Owens Corning talent pipeline by growing all team members and recruiting and retaining the best talent.
  • Grows and develops direct reports and others identified talent in their organization. 
  • Engages in personal development continuously building skills and stays abreast of workforce and business trends throughout the industry
  • Models collaboration to deliver business results and enable development of self and others.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree; ideally in OD, Business or Human Resources preferred but not required; MBA Preferred
  • Ability to learn the business, understand key drivers and effectively create a talent strategy to deliver
  • HR partner experience with a high-performance, market leading organization, ideally supporting sales functions.

 

 EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR business partner experience preferred
  • Developing and implementing talent strategy for a human resources function
  • Attracting, developing and retaining outstanding talent which represents the available talent pool
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence within an organization with informal authority
  • Workforce Planning experience ideal, talent scenario planning

  • Strong change management skills and principles and practices
