PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The OEM Material Planner is responsible for planning and ensuring the smooth supply of input materials to OEM fabrication plants. This role involves close collaboration with the demand planner to align forecasts with supply and working with intercompany insulation planners to maintain a consistent flow of materials.

 

Reports to:  OEM Demand Planner

Span of Control: Individual Contributor 

Location: Remote. Candidate needs to be located in Eastern Standard or Central Standard time zone

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Material Planning (65%):

  • Plan and manage the supply of input materials to fabrication plants and 3rd party fabricators.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
  • Planning of OEM Retail Insulation Accessories into OC distribution centers

 

Communication & Coordination with stakeholders (10%)

  • Collaborate with intercompany insulation planners to ensure a smooth and consistent supply of input materials.
  • Address any supply chain disruptions and implement corrective actions.
  • Works with OC group such as transportation, warehousing, customer service, and SAP IT teams as needed.
  • Inform appropriate people of any changes or issues to materials that could negatively impact productivity or customers.

 

Inventory Management (10%)

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and material usage.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with plants during Business Exit process to prevent stock of obsolete material.
  • Planning stock builds during yearly planned plant downtime.

 

Collaboration with Demand Planners (5%)

  • Work closely with demand planners to ensure forecasts accurately reflect supply needs.
  • Adjust supply plans based on changes in demand forecasts.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting (5%):

  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Perform continuous improvement of SAP MRP data to help optimize the overall planning process.
  • Prepare regular reports on material supply status and performance metrics.

 

Compliance and Quality Assurance (5%)

  • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated work experience in supply chain, operations, sourcing, materials management, or related field
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Experience in SAP and Power BI
  • Intermediate Skills in Excel
  • Efficient time management and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to Travel 5% of the time intermittently.

 

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

  • Supply Chain/Business Degree
  • Effective communication skills to influence cross-functional teams
